Did a rewatch as soon as it ended and just finished that. Full disclosure: never read a word in a book and mostly binged watched the TV and never really followed along that closely. I did the rewatch because I knew the ending and who was left and it made it easier to follow the story/characters on the rewatch. Didn’t like the last season when watching live. I think it went too quickly like everyone said and I think real time with twitter and the internet will make almost anything impossible to not scrutinize. That said, found great enjoyment in the rewatch. Sure, I wanted to see Arya kill Cersei, or use some faces. Sure I didnt necessarily understand Bran all series and then him ending up the king. Sure I didn’t want Dany to go full beast mode and many other things that have been exhausted in this thread. But this show did a great job of tying out a bunch of shit in ways that worked and so many things in the last season were brought up in earlier eps that made it nostalgic. From drinking games with Brienne to “walking into a brothel with a donkey and a honeycomb”. The story went well and I think will age well in years to come on rewatches
the more i think about the final season the more i can truly appreciate how much it sucked major ass.
This is a rational, well thought out, reasonable subjective response. What I’m trying to say is get outta here with that shit.
i love how fast this show disappeared from the cultural zeitgeist like it was the hottest shit around for years and the the final season was that awful that everyone just immediately moved on weiss and benioff should face the firing squad
Hot take: they should not be murdered but they definitely should not be treated as hot desirable writing talents. Get these guys off Star Wars
And here we all are, still not reading the next book. At least we got some solid episodes over its run.
I really hope you all one day get so exorbitantly overpaid to be as fucking lazy over multiple years as D&D were
As much as I’ve stanned for these guys on here, I agree. Quality stemmed from the source material. I’d be interested to see who is really writing and constructing the Star Wars stories—if it’s them and only them, that does not bode well.
The final season pretty much killed all desire I had of doing any re-watches, which used to be an annual (or more frequent) thing, I can't even look at the truly epic episodes like Hardhome anymore knowing how fucking irrelevant it ends up being to the complete fiasco end game.
i'm sad that it was kinda ruined but kinda happy that most everyone came around to what a lot of people were saying for most of the season
Hardhome to me now is pretty much: Hey you know that wildling mom we all liked? Yea you died for no fucking reason NK raises all the dead and stares at Jon Snow? Yea this moment is pointless and has zero payoff, one of you gets killed by someone not even in this episode and the the other one's entire family heritage is meaningless because a bunch of eunuchs wants you dead.
Would’ve been way better if it didn’t happen so Jon would be scared to death of their threat for no reason
A touch of deus ex machina notwithstanding, Jon was right to fear the threat over all others. Cersei gambled and was right.
Load up a bunch of scorpions with Valaryian Steel javelins and shoot them at the NK and the threat is gone. army of the dead was a fucking sham.
Don’t blame them, they thought GoT nerds hate what they came up with, Star Wars nerds would crucify them
Every time I think about this last season I get triggered Haven't seen anything fuck up its ending so bad since ME3
I mean, they can cast SOME blame to GRRM. He left them with only a few sentences saying where everyone ends up. Still, they're hacks and proved it
How dumb is netflix for giving them 100 million dollar offer? HBO realized they fucked up by that backlash to that trash confederate show. Disney booted them off star wars. Their success is 95% due to GRRM why would you possibly give them that much money when no one is gonna give af what they make.
