Dany deserved to at least have a child before she died otherwise, what was the point of all the foreshadowing in season 7?
Greyworm took his entire army and sailed across the sea. Those ungrateful little shits watched him sail away and still banished Jon. Man FUCK them kids.
Everyone participating in the neckbeardy debate is a neckbeard, I wasn’t pinning that solely on you. I agree there were a LOT of problems with the council of lords scene. I just think your personal disdain for Greyworm is clouding your judgment. They didn’t have many other options than to parlay with him and I think it’s clear from the scene he’s an enemy. Greyworm wants to leave Westeros but he also wants justice for his queen and Jon and Tyrion are the only cards he has to play. Fully agree with you that the king selection was clunky (“oh hold on Greyworm you need a king to negotiate with, just give us one second to sort that out, hurr durr durr”). Dealing with the Unsullied and selecting Bran needed to be separate scenes
If you’ve read the books, you know why she’s barren and won’t end up having kids. This is the book thread man
Books haven't confirmed this per se and there are 2 books left, my assumption was that Mirri Maz Duur was full of shit and taking Dany for all she could. Killed Kahl Drogo, killed Rhego, told her a terrible future awaits her, etc.
Obviously he didn’t want to be king. And Tormund did have that one line about him having the true north in him (which is pretty much the only insight we have about wtf Jon wants or thinks) so I guess we can surmise that ending up in the north is what he wanted. There’s a huge fucking difference between letting him go beyond the wall and forcing him to take the black though.
I think the point is that nobody concerned (Yara and Greyworm) will know which actually ends up happening
I'm honestly sadder that I've seen the last Gay of Thrones recap than I am about seeing the last Game of Thrones episode.
They had this long bit where they explained a lot of the plot holes the show left. Basically told us what happens to Jon beyond the wall. Short little thing about how they cut out a love scene between Clarke and Heady that seemed like a poor call. It was p neat
It was mostly a behind the scenes where they show how stuff was filmed and developed. One part I found funny was during the table read, they showed the exchange between Dany and Varys when he dies. The actor was pretty obviously upset with his execution and it was funny considering his comments after the season about his character development
My favorite part was the Head of Snow and all the details of the sets and makeup and costumes. I wish there would have been more interaction with the cast. Script reactions were cool/interesting.
Really enjoyed it. Good nod to the crew and extras Favorite might be how emotional and shocked Kit gets during the table read. He clearly didn’t read it beforehand unlike others
Depends on the show. They shred the scripts afterwards. Certain actors are allowed to have the script beforehand, and others aren’t. I imagine a few of the cast might have seen it before the read, and some might choose to not read it at all yet. Top projects now will send scripts and sides to actors directly but then expire in 48-72 hours
Kit didn’t want to know. Emilia read the script when she got it and knew like two years before the finale aired
They sat on a plane together to that table read and she was so excited and wanted to talk to him about it but he wanted nothing to do with it
"D&D told me (Isaac) there were two things George R.R. Martin had planned for Bran, and that was the Hodor revelation, and that he would be king."
Which king...? A D&D misinterpretation would be the greatest thing ever for those very unhappy with how we arrived at Bran as King
The ending is 100% GRRM’s bullets. The fact they didn’t realize they needed to do more with Bran beyond these two “facts” is annoying
My favorite part of listening to the final Binge Mode was realizing, oh shit, Bran wasn't even in a whole season of the show.
Bran being king kinda makes sense if Jon actually abdicated his crown. Just like how Robert would have been king had a massive tragedy happened to House Targaryen happened (Dany and Viserys dying on top of what happened) due to his lineage.
Yeah B&W even said they left him out of season five because they didn't know what to do with the character and just thought they'd let him learn to be the 3ER offscreen.
Bran being King is fine if you have him use his unlimited knowledge to help with the wars against Cersei and the White Walkers. If it's very clear that Bran is almost a benevolent living god then you've set it up properly. However, Bran did jack shit the whole show. Him knowing the entire past solely setup Jon being a Targ and that was it. He was made King because he knows "stories." That's where they ruined it.
Agree with everyone. Looking back it should've been obvious Bran was gonna be King. The writers had no clue what to do with him yet they kept him around. He was gone for a full season and pretty much did nothing but sit around the final seasons despite having God like powers. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but looking forward to these hacks making that franchise worse.
