location news http://www.westeros.org/GoT/News/Entry/12383 June 03, 2015 Season 6 Filming Locations in Spain Confirmed As brought to our attention by Spanish fansite Los Siete Reinos, at least two new locations in Spain are lining up for filming in season 6, which starts filming this July but the Spanish segment appears set for September and October. According to Barcelonan paper La Vanguardia, HBO has apparently confirmed that the Catalonian city of Girona will be used in filming—its famous cathedral being cited as one location of particular interest—as well as the Valencian medieval town of Peñsicola which is known for retaining many medieval and Renaissance buildings and structures. James Hibberd of EW adds that other locations may be used in Spain, though those have as yet to be confirmed (in particular, James Hibberd notes that there’s no word whether Seville, the main site for filming Dornish scenes, has not been confirmed as a filming location at this time). Both Los Siete Reinos and La Vanguardia speculate that Girona would serve very well for Oldtown and the Citadel, citing the narrow streets of the Jewish quarter, the edifice of the cathedral, and so on. Peñsicola is more of a mystery, although Spanish fans are tentatively suggesting it could serve for Casterly Rock. In support of this, note that the Wikipedia article notes that Peñsicola is sometimes known as the “Gibraltar of Valencia”, thanks to being a prominent fortified peninsula, and George R.R. Martin has often likened Casterly Rock to the actual Gibraltar, while at the same time he has noted that Casterly Rock will appear in future A Song of Ice and Fire novels. It’s certainly as good a guess as any.
casting news and theories behind it... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/05/27/game-of-thrones-spoilers-season-6_n_7444072.html
Are you talking about the names or the descriptions. Names are just place holders for some of the characters.
Descriptions. Granted I'm not the most knowledgeable of a lot of the characters. Only read the books once and flew through them probably too fast.
they must be doing a flashback, a famous sword and a paragon of knighthood, whom other than Ser Arthur Dayne fits that description.
They'd have to bring back Sean Bean too, right? Would be weird to have a ToJ flashback with Arthur Dayne and not have Ned there.
Nothing to really be excited about on that list other than Arthur Dayne, which means there is a lot to be excited about... It's going to be so important and difficult to get that scene right if it's as important and as everyone believes.... Excited to see Dayne.
I wonder how heavy they'll lay it out for that scene re: R+L=J. maybe it's something Bran or Mel sees. excited for that, though.
All I've ever wanted is to see a live version of these two quotes attached to a little ole Grand Northern Conspiracy Also something like this couldn't hurt:
They better pick someone dreamy for Dayne. Ive always envisioned him as an Aragon type but more muscular
I would giggle like a little school girl if they cast Manderly and start using 'the Ned'. With all the Bolton nonsense the show has kind of glossed over the fierce loyalty the North has to the Starks and to Ned
I don't dislike the north, just more interested in other places. Oh man maybe a more soft and uglier version of him. Vigo and Kit... There's no similarity whatsoever.
I'm not necessarily a huge LOTR fan, but Aragorn's story is one of my favorites in fiction. It's such a beautiful story.
I feel like the show writers should have been using this more during the extended scenes this season with Roose and Ramsay to build on the fact that the North hates them
Kind of a shot in the dark but aren't the riverlands kind of a cluster fuck right now, lots of looting and stuff. That could be where the renegades are being cast. That's also where nymeria is, could be some blind arya wolf dreams.
so season 6 storylines... Greyjoys Arya training Bran Dorne Sparrows/King's Landing (BTW what are the going to do with the Tyrells, haven't seen them for a few episodes) Jon's rebirth Night Walkers attack the Wall? Dany/Dothraki Tyrion/Varys in Mereen Theon/Sansa (does Brienne and Pod come along) Sam and the Tarley's Rickon? Return of the Hound? what else am I missing?
listening to the Bald Move Spoiler podcast and he mentions that throughout the season, a random crow has been in the background in many of the scenes including Dany with Drogon in the last episode with the indication that it is Bran watching the major plot points all season
guess we need to start establishing spoiler rules in this thread, I am fine with anything and everything being out there in the open, if others aren't, I guess we need to figure out where the line is...so with that being said regarding what was just posted Spoiler so seems like Stannis is dead if there was any doubt from that line from Varys
The show has already started going downhill, might as well just bring in The Rock for Dayne. He can show off his Scorpian King skills with a blade
was getting ready to say... judging by the casting crew's eye for nipple talent, i'm gonna need to see kinvara's. i'm betting they're top tier. for real. i caught myself holding my breath.
so kinvara is replacing benerro? she says she is the high priestess of volantis, benerro is the high priest of volantis. or is she replacing moqorro, the one benerro sends to dany in the books? if she is replacing moqorro that might implicate that victarion would reach mereen in the books
So I'm guessing that answers the AA question as being Dany? Sorry Jonny boy,I guess you for real dead.
