At least we don't have worry about a school breaking out a weird alternate uniform that makes no sense at all.
OL has got better as the year has gone on. The weak link of freshman LT Proctor has steadily improved as the season has gone on. Solid LG that’s a sophomore, senior center that gets thrown off when the defense claps, adjusted midway thru the season at RG and plugged in a RS So that has vastly helped the unit and then first round draft pick at RT in JC Latham. RBs there’s a bunch of guys that would play at every school across the country. Just know that’s a deep position As for WR and TE there’s about 4 guys that are pretty good not great at catching the ball. Bond and Burton do have great speed. Burton was a UGA transfer and definitely talks too much. Hope Burton is there in the bowl game. QB is tough guy, has vastly improved as the season has gone on and since November he’s been allowed to make plays with his legs. if this is too much and not very helpful I won’t break down the defense but would be happy to if you want it.
Oh yea and our FG Kicker has scored more points than any other college football player ever. So that’s pretty neat
You might as well, we've got 4 weeks and probably only one of them will be occupied by Buckeyes trying to make this thread about themselves.
QB- McCarthy accurate, prone to yolo moments RB - Corum, Edwards, Mullings...Corum gets the tough yards, Edwards is the better Receiver, Kalel is a converted LB who's the closest to a big back OL- probably the weakest in the last 3 years...exacerbated by Zinter breaking his leg and Rimington finalist Drake Nugent being banged up WR - Solid not spectacular. Roman Wilson is fast, Cornelius Johnson is dependable but neither will separate from Bama CBs TE- probably our best weapon, Colston Loveland isn't Bowers or Travis Kelce but he's pretty goddamn good, other TE Barner is an IU transfer and as far as #2 TEs go, he's got few peers DL- our biggest strength on D, don't have a Hutchinson or Ojabo this year but DTs are really good, rotate a lot of bodies noone playes more than 30-ish snaps a game LB- Colson and Barrett, have played a lot of football for this team would consider this unit a + Secondary - Will Johnson and Rod Moore are as good as anybody, everyone else is solid, not spectacular ST- Kicker missed a kick early in the season and has been money since, P has been really effective pinning opponents deep last 3-4 games. Kick Return is average, everytime we return punts my butthole puckers a little depending on who's back there. We've had a slot receiver, a white guy, and a freshman return punts this year.
QB draws against a spread field, a couple of big runs with double pulls and bad run fits, Jordan Hare voodoo.
Just curious if any of it was replicable, were you not expecting it from them? I'm sure with that on film, Nick will be ready for JJ's mobility.
They did pretty much the exact same thing vs UGA this year with zero passing threat. Those double OL pulls and what basically amounts to triple option reads have always given us issues against them (see 2022 game). We figured it out for the most part in the second half, but it was still infuriating.
Hugh freeze is just really good at getting numbers in the run game. Saban has had him in Tuscaloosa many times to pick his brain. not sure you can replicate it as it’s their whole offense, but could certainly use in one or two times in special situations.
Um does a pretty bad job using jjs legs in the run game but michigan runs crazy complex running schemes that get lbs out of gaps a lot. Honestly think its part of the reason why um struggles in bowl games, ums run game relies on execution and scheme more than the ol being ass kickers and the bowl time gives teams a lot of time to prep for the scheme.
I am here. A absolute fist fight. Whichever QB makes bigger plays or more mistakes will be the difference. Can’t wait.
What is the preferred uniform combos? Maize pants, blue jerseys for me. Would love the crimson jersey and white pants. Gonna be glorious either way.
None that I am not embarrassed to recommend. Joel Klatt is solid, but obvs not Michigan focused, but he is Michigan / BIG friendly.
Also, I remember two years ago getting into Georgia podcasts for a couple weeks and thinking these clowns give us no shot. We had, in fact, no shot. Will not be partaking in Bama pods due to the bad juju. I will stick with the mid November re-runs of Buckeye podcasts, thank you.
Do y’all have a beat writer for The Athletic? Ours, Kenny Smith, is awesome and puts out a ton of content. Well worth a read if you gave a sub.
And very much grain of salt, mgoblog is the largest Michigan focused blog. They’re generally a bunch of douchebags. The message board is a shithole. But, they do a series called “upon further review” that you might find interesting, It’s the offense and defense film review after each game. It’s usually a pretty good review for a bunch of guys living in their mom’s basement. Here’s the offensive one for the OSU game they also do a podcast. You couldn’t pay me enough to listen to it. No fucking way https://mgoblog.com/content/upon-further-review-2023-offense-vs-ohio-state
Place is so bad, opposing TMB B1G fanbases don’t use material from there against us in B1G threads, it’s written in the thread bylaws
