The vids/pics out of Lahaina are brutal. Last we heard was over 50 dead. We had some smaller fires on our mountain that caused a lot of property damage, but nothing like what hit Maui. A hurricane was passing kinda far to the south, kicked up 3 days of 60mph winds, sucked up all the moisture, but didn’t drop any rain. We’d had a wet spring building tons of brush on the leeward sides then it went bone dry after June.
15 years ago today was the first, and not the last, time that I was off the couch yelling at my TV about swimming. A top 3 Olympic moment imo
are you the guy that posted bars about swimming, like an Olympic Swimming Rap? I remember someone doing that
Must have gotten hit with some bad surge. I’m in DFW and NYC a lot and haven’t paid that much unless it’s a super long trip
nah...everyone is talking about it all over social media. the model was to have competitive pricing so low it forced the taxi companies out of business now ubers are more expensive than what taxis used to cost, a lot of taxi companies went under and Gen Z refuses to use what taxis are left anyways uber's got people accustomed to their service by the balls
there's a strong chance I have to travel to SF for a conference and I'm probably gonna need to use uber for the first time and I'm bracing for the sticker-shock
Uber has gotten more expensive, but I dont think its as astronomical as people probably think. Demand has surged so it makes sense that prices have gone up. As someone who was living in NYC during the advent of Uber, yes you are correct. However, the upgrade in service and cars vs yellow cab made it worth it. Not to mention the hassle of flagging down a taxi at peak hours. The biggest discrepancy that still exists is the flat fares taxis charge for airport rides vs Uber which is a crap shoot. Call me crazy but Uber is absolutely worth the cost vs the alternative in almost all scenarios. It’s a shame Uber treats their drivers like complete dog shit. Make sure to always tip even if its just $1 for a short trip. Full disclosure I average 35-45 Uber rides a month (80% work pays for)
I can't get into Breaking Bad, or anything else he's in, because I can't not see the dad from Malcolm in the Middle
I think this could be sold to a sub-section of voters here in the US. I know I'd be crushed by being so owned Argentina cracks down on football fans who tear up money to taunt locals bbc.co.uk/news/w...
I can still remember the call, "and here comes Alain Bernard who stands six foot five and can absolutely fly" Spoiler wasn't fast enough tho
They are always low on cash, like actual cash. When I was there you could only get $60 out of the atm
i've tried a bunch of different kinds of honey roasted peanuts and planters reign supreme always funny when the most popular brand is the best
A lot of those and then some that measure their dick on how big of a rock they can crawl over. It's just a lot of people that get their identity from their vehicle and that's really weird to me. Like I was at my daughter's cheer practice the other day. Saw a Jeep in the parking lot that had his youtube channel on a window sticker, something like DuckMeTV lol. While watching practice, dude walks over to me and asked me about my Jeep. He was wearing a Jeep shirt and Jeep hat. Long story short, he bought a Jeep earlier this year and now it's his whole identity. That's so damn weird to me.
In Vegas a few times I’ve wanted an Uber, would check the price, but then see I was in the wrong spot for pickup and didn’t want to walk, so I’d just hop in the cab line. The few times I did this taking a taxi ended up being twice as expensive as the Uber quote.
I was actually thinking the same thing, but at the same time I know the type of person DBL is describing
I’ve walked entirely too far in Vegas just because I didn’t feel like going to the designated pick-up spot in a casino
This is one of the best purchases I’ve made: Lodge L8SGP3 Cast Iron Square Grill Pan, Pre-Seasoned, 10.5-inch https://a.co/d/34Al5Qz
I make them on the grill in the summer. Basically because I haven’t purchased a black stone but the same idea
My friend's fiance is going into notable bridezilla mode She wants handwritten RSVPs from all attendees. This is how they are going to get an accurate count for dinner or someshit is the explanation. I feel like it should be assumed that I will be there considering that I've been tight with her soon-to-be husband for 25 years I RSVP'd via text to my buddy the same day that I got the card in the mail. No mention of including my bff either. Am I being a dick here? I don't really know wedding planning etiquette ()
I mean I mailed it back just to make my friend's life easier. I should have been more clear, she is further requesting like a personalized thank you for being invited to her wedding. "For the memories" The +1 thing is a whole other thing that gets into personal details no one cares about Not that they care about this in the first place
the +1 thing is important because they'll be assigning seats and paying for meals ahead of time the extra thank you seems weird, agree there
I don’t quite understand the confusion on why someone planning a wedding would need to know if a) you’re coming, and b) are you bringing someone. Like how do you function as an adult if you can’t put together how that info would obviously be important to them?
