Grazed over this topic in the General forum but posting here too. I'm a new ps4 owner, bought a PSTV and looking into PSNow and PsVue. I'm a fan of the PSTV device as it works very well for wired remote play. One annoying fact about the PSTV however is it does not play apps such as Hulu, Amazon, Netflix so...I can do everything but stream apps. I'm thinking of trying PSVue but I don't know if that will stream through the PSTV since the above apps cannot. Also, I may get into PSNow since I don't really buy games but it would be great if it will stream through PSTV (which I think it will since its a selling point for the PSTV). TIA for any help or knowledge.
Well after doing some research I'm finding a few things. PSNow does run on Vita and PSTV but that service is going to terminate in the near future. PSVue does not run on remote play so I can't use PSTV for than either. It's strange that PS has all of these good ideas and different ways to utilize them on their hardware but then they completely abandon the support of their hardware. glad I only spent $40 on my PSTV. A lot of potential just overlooked.
Do you need pstv for Vue to work? Is it just stations that are playable through psn? I hadn't seen much on it.
No you don't, I just own a PSTV and I'm trying to get the most out of it. If I have PSVue running on my PS4 I can't stream it to the PSTV at all. Same goes for Hulu, Amazon, Netflix. I can play PSNow thru the PSTV but that will also be coming to an end probably this year.
