This is a really long reddit post, but there are some cool ideas in here: http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheG...scussion_did_you_know_this_about_destinywhat/
Uh, what's the deal with them highlighting the slots on Fatebringer and the Warlock Crota raid helmet? Are they going to let you upgrade them to like the new Vanguard gear level or something?
Fuck yes. I went to the Reddit forum and sure as shit you can level your legendary gear up to the new light level. So basically Ascendent shards and all that shit is still relevant.
Some interesting things from the Bungie walkthrough of the Reef today: Material Exchange. It looks like you can exchange ascendants for ascendants and radiants for radiants. Also looks like you can exchange any of them for motes or glimmer. Reforging Looks like this is how to upgrade existing weapons/armor to the new max level. So yeah. Some new materials for upgrading and reforging. Didn't see anything that hinted towards any new currency-type things. So that's nice.
Jax Teller it looks like Wolfslayer's Claw might be a viable Auto Rifle, if you ever want to go back.
Got the thorn bounty. God I hate the void portion. Just got a TWO TO THE MORGUE, so that should help.
they're basically doing away with commendations and are allowing us to turn them into rep. no idea when it goes active. probably with HoW
i gotta say, aside from lacking the raid (which honestly might not even be bad depending on what PoE actually is), HoW might actually make this game a lot better. not that it was bad but it had a lot of annoying issues and they seem to be fixing a ton of them with this new DLC.
This is what makes Bungie one of the greatest. They're fixing pretty much everything people have been bitching about since launch and things we haven't been complaining about. Activision may have forced them to release 25% of a game but Bungie will fix it.
after the first couple weeks where we started to all realize the shortcomings of the game, i was pretty certain even then that the game would be fixed eventually. i mean i played diablo 3 on pc since beta and just seeing how that game has gone from enjoyable but lacking an endgame to being an entirely new awesome beast of a game altogether in the span of a year or so, i had a lot of faith bungie would also right the ship.
So I was a little confused about upgrading existing weapons/armor. I just rewatched the stream and this is how it goes. Nothing will have to be re-leveled. However far you have progressed each item is how far it will be when it is upgraded. Legendary weapons will require Etheric Light (plus glimmer and some crafting material). Etheric Light is an item they said you could get from Nightfalls, Trials of Osiris (PvP activity) or the Prison of Elders (PvE activity). All exotics can be immediately upgraded using glimmer, weapon parts or class-specific armor material and an exotic shard. Day one 365 Gjallarhorn?
