wanted to hop on for some pre-rise destiny but it's been 30 minutes and im 86% prepared to download a 32 gb update :( gonna take forever to prepare for rise.
yeah update was the hotfix at 108mb. it's fine now. when i paused the download it showed up as 32 gigs so i guess it was just showing me how large destiny was. whatever.
i tried to grind some shit today. turns out being fully prepared for a new expansion takes more than one day. oh well
Are you in the queue to join? The first time it put me in the queue, I was at like 70,000, got booted, came back at like 106,000, got booted again and now at 203,000. Wtf? I mean, why is there a queue to play a fucking video game in the first place?
TTK seemed to go pretty fucking smooth. Rust, Ogre and I were running the campaign within 10 mins of launch.
I'm sure the queue is to prevent people from continuing to spam connect on overloaded servers. No excuse for being in this situation though.

FYI, all rep NPC 's are dropping new light level shit. Including Eris, Petra and Variks. I saved some bounties from them just in case and they all gave me 340+ stuff.
They turned my fucking internet off early. Had it set for disconnect on 10/2 for the move but the fuckers just went ahead and turned it off today. They even tried to tell me they would send out a tech to fix it for $100 today as a courtesy. I'm going to murder someone today.
Got in and turned in a few things. Got a nice high impact scout from DO with outlaw, firefly, and explosive rounds (fatebringer style)

So what's the deal with the iron gally? You get the skin but have to find a year 3 gally to actually use it?
finished the story and got through the first stages on 3 or 4 quests. Unlocked the gally quest, not sure yet how it goes. Now the interminable work day. liked the story missions ok, definitely like fighting the fallen splicer enemies more than the taken. I'll be back on between 4 and 430 central continuing what I started this morning or starting with my other 2 characters if others are on doing story stuff themselves.
that should be perfect timing for me to run one of my other guys through the initial stuff with you. I also accidentally did the forge twice. Still not entirely sure how that works. The first time went ok and we finished it (me and 3 other public rando's in there). Second time we got our asses handed to us by the final wave which seemed much harder than the first. If you're in the forge and die, don't hit respawn if you can. Wait for someone to revive you, otherwise you have to use another key to rejoin.
Got through the campaign with my first character and am taking a break before diving into the quests. Staring at an server error screen and then a queue for two hours really takes it out of ya.
Some other FYI's I've found: Blues seem to max out at 340 whether dropped or decrypted. I've decrypted 5 purple weapons from the cryptarch while at LL 350. All decrypted at 350, but all were year 2 engrams. I also had a year 2 purple primary at the postmaster that when I pulled it out, it immediately decrypted without visiting the cryptarch to a year 2, but at 351. No idea what was going on there I've only decrypted 1 exotic (primary) as a 350 and it was a 351 Red Death. Not sure if I've just had bad luck in decrypting or if they've slowed the LL progression once you hit 350.
