Friend had this idea: After this season of GoT, HBO could take a year off from the series and let the actors go do some other things for a year while they're hot commodities. Give GRRM extra time to do the next ASOIAF novel. I wasn't sure at first, but with HBO recently suggesting the show would last longer than originally intended, it started to make sense to me. Maybe they could do something like start 2017's season in the winter rather than spring (AKA push it back 6 months). Thoughts?
they'd have to skip a decade if the purpose was to let GRRM finish the books. there's no point skipping now.
HBO isn't gonna let their top show just sit and get stale, they are striking while the iron is hot. It isn't their fault GRRM is a fat lazy bastard.
I've given up on even seeing the next book and can't see any chance he could possibly finish dos within five years. Might as well just churn out the show.
Fuckin a. Spartacus pulled it off. Granted Spartacus was pure porn and violence and everything they did worked. But still. I'd take 2 seasons of targaryen / RR
We know what happens in the Bobbellion though. I'd rather see a 4-5 season series on the Dance of the Dragons (Aegon II -> Aegon III). Mind you with like 10 important battles and 26 dragons, shit could be very expensive to produce.
Hell, I'd rather see a series on the first Blackfyre rebellion. Seeing that fat POS Aegon IV make dumb decision after decision, Daeron and Daemon growing up together and Brynden Rivers gain influence in KL. That stuff to me is way more interesting.
