It's gotta be weird to live in this perpetual delusion that you are as good as a man at every last thing on the planet when simple biology and physiology tells you otherwise. It's sad.
She has a secret pitch man. It's this crazy thing called a screwball. The premise is absolutely ridiculous, but I'll give it a fair shot. Very few TV shows out there with sports as a main setting.
You would be surprised at how variety can mess with even professionals. I had a friend when I was a kid that could throw as hard as anyone in Major League Baseball after he broke his arm. Anyway, as the season progressed, his arm was nearly completely healed and he began to lose velocity. With 2 outs in the ninth against a feared hitter during the pivotal regular season finale, he used a change up pitch that he floated home to close out the game.
I hear Starz is developing a show about BiMaleStripper's life called "Catcher". I guess he is a "straight" guy who ends up accidentally playing on the leagues only gay softball team and learns a lot about life, sex and love four balls at a time.
Yes. USA Baseball has done a tremendous job of growing women's baseball in the United States and with prospect development camps growing, I think there is a very good chance that a woman will have the ability to play professional baseball in the next decade. I'm less confident they make it to AA or AAA but if there is a woman talented enough in A-ball, I think she'll get the call due to the swarm of positive PR, ticket sales, good-will, attention to the USA women's national team, curiosity, preparing a catcher for catching a knuckleballer, etc... I wouldn't bet my savings on it but I think it is more likely to happen than not happen
Jamie Moyer pitched in the big leagues at age 49; I think it's absolutely possible for a woman to do it.
It'd be a real shame to see her take the job of some hard working minor league player just because the team wants to sell tickets, amirite dblplay1212
Moyer was getting shelled at 49. He wasn't getting people to swing and miss at all by that age. LOL if you think a non-knuckleball throwing woman can make the majors
Jamie Moyer couldn't break a window with a pitch at age 49, yet he threw 53 innings, got 36 strike outs, and 2 hilarious wins. Don't move the goalposts. Jamie Moyer pitched in the big leagues for a number of years with a top velocity that I believe women are capable of throwing. I said it was possible. Don't be a dipshit. LOL.
sure it is possible that a woman comes along who is capable of hitting 84 on the radar gun and has enough movement/control to make batters miss or get bad contact. It is also possible that I have a threesome with Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman at some point in my life. Just because something is "possible" doesn't mean it has a chance of actually happening.
Kyle Hendricks has the best ERA in the National League and he tops out around 90. That said, no woman is going to make the big leagues.
Based on what I saw, the catcher is going to be the one to stick his dick in crazy. I think I'll stick with the show for a while
My daughters have requested that this show on the DVR when they saw the commerical and I have watched the first 2 episodes with them and it is not bad. They love it.
Show already struggling for sports related storylines. The "bean ball game" combined with facing former BF who is an opposing catcher came off really bad imo and apparently she gets selected to the all star game this week. I am enjoying the show, but they need to come up with less cheesy storylines or this thing will run out of ideas by season 2
