My guess is because the show aired on BBC2, which is not the premier British station. BBC1 is there station for big shows.
I've got the season 2 finale left and I'm caught up. Super excited for this episode and am loving the show. Does anyone else have a hard time understanding them sometimes? I have to rewind a few times an episode and occasionally just give up
Yes, there are definitely times when it was difficult to understand them, especially Hardy and some of the other groups. I figured out the Peaky Blinders accents pretty well. Sometimes they also talk low.
My stepdad told me I would need captions and I didn't have any need for them and was confused by him saying that. Guess it's not just him
Pretty interesting read on the British tunnelers during world war 1. I didn't really understand what Tommy did n the war and this does a good job of explaining it. Crazy shit. http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/zggykqt Here is a synopsis, but the infographic and stories above are really good. On the Western Front during the First World War, the military employed specialist miners to dig tunnels under No Man's Land. The main objective was to place mines beneath enemy defensive positions. When it was detonated, the explosion would destroy that section of the trench. The infantry would then advance towards the enemy front-line hoping to take advantage of the confusion that followed the explosion of an underground mine. It could take as long as a year to dig a tunnel and place a mine. As well as digging their own tunnels, the miners had to listen out for enemy tunnellers. On occasions miners accidentally dug into the opposing side's tunnel and an underground fight took place. When an enemy's tunnel was found it was usually destroyed by placing an explosive charge inside. German trench destroyed by a mine explosion, 1917. Approximately 10,000 German troops were killed when the 19 mines were simultaneously detonated At the beginning of the Somme offensive, the British detonated two mines that contained 24 tons of explosives. Another 91,111 lb. mine at Spanbroekmolen created a hole that afterwards measured 430 ft. from rim to rim. Now known as the Pool of Peace, it is large enough to house a 40 ft. deep lake.[2] In January, 1917, General Sir Herbert Plumer, gave orders for 20 mines to be placed under German lines at Messines. Over the next five months more than 8,000 metres of tunnel were dug and 600 tons of explosive were placed in position. Simultaneous explosion of the mines took place at 3.10 on 7 June. The blast killed an estimated 10,000 soldiers and was so loud it was heard in London.[3]
Just watched both seasons, great series and it surpassed my expectations. Looking forward to season 3. Pumped we only have till April. I am calling it now, John gets killed in season 3.
I got lucky and saw the 1st 2 of season 3 that some Russian dude had posted on Youtube. I think the Russian letters in the title made the copy right screeners miss it for awhile. No such like on Episode 3. I dont know much about Torrance, but I have heard PureVPN is supposed to be a good way to catch these episodes before Netflix release. Any suggestions?
