That is bad news as Canton Trade days is going on this weekend I believe. Picture thousands of people packed in a square mile walking outdoor pavillions buying merch. What kind of merch you ask? Idk, stuff like blown glass, metal yard art, antler chandeliers, homeade furniture...
I always hesitate to share damage pictures, but it's all we have to officially rate them. Looks significant
Not at all. That is just a little mom and pop shop set up on the side of the road to catch some of the shit show traffic that comes along for the trade days weekend. The roads in the town were not planned/built to handle the traffic that hits that town 4 days out of the month and with these storms rolling through during closing time it is no big surprise that cars were caught on the road in it. Add to it that Canton is in the Piney Woods area of Texas and you wouldn't see it until it was right on you mixed with we were promised rain all day and that line seemed to cook up within an hour and you have a very bad situation. Local weather just reported another radar indicated circulation in Maybank that would put its path to the west side of Canton by 8...
I feel bad for liking the posts with videos now that I see there have been fatalities reported. Those things are just amazing to watch though.
Whatever happens tonight in Canton, it could have been infinitely worse if it hit an hour or 2 earlier at this location
Search and rescue on the scene southeast of Emory searching destroyed houses for survivors. Highway 69 and FM 779
Yeah, lots of dumbasses driving around here. I've got a lot of friends on the Rogers police force who are actively posting on social media telling people to stay home and quit driving around looking for flooded areas like a lot of these idiots seem to be doing.
Frustrates the shit out of me cause these dumbasses then have to be rescued, putting more ppl at risk
What a fucking idiot This is a golf course in Bella Vista that lines highway I-49. Dude is riding a unicorn down the #15 fairway
Will get standard "at least EF3" rating at the beginning. But that's some pretty significant damage, looks like Perryville.
