Sucks that we'll probably have to wait 3-4 years to see these guys contribute, except for Flanagan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1MT0rHJ7rE
http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/liverpool-land-american-teen Liverpool have confirmed the signing of USA youngster Marc Pelosi, with the 17-year-old moving from California to Merseyside to join the youth academy. With Kenny Dalglish placing an emphasis on young players coming through the junior ranks and starlets such as John Flanagan and Jack Robinson shining for the senior side, Pelosi is another step towards building a team with long-term goals to challenge for trophies. Liverpool youth academy director Frank McParland told the official website: "We're determined to identify the best possible talent globally and I'm delighted we've been able to bring Marc in to the club." Earlier this year Pelosi had revealed that Liverpool were interested in his services, but he was still unsure if he would continue his college education over moving to Anfield. "College could still be a good option, but it depends on the offers that are coming in," he recently said. "Going pro is my first priority. We heard there was some strong interest from Liverpool, and Germany a few [other] places, so I'm just deciding where to go." Pelosi has an impressive pedigree, with the midfielder captaining the USA Under 17 team in the World Cup tournament in Mexico this year and scoring eight goals in 28 appearances for the international side. The signing is a big coup for Liverpool, who missed out on selected targets to bigger clubs during the summer. In particular, Ashley Young and Phil Jones were reportedly on Dalglish's transfer wishlist, and both opted to move to Manchester United for Champions League football instead. But with a plethora of choice in front of him, Pelosi decided to be part of the history-rich club that is building a reputation for developing young players full of potential. Good for Liverpool Good for America all of it
