This is going to be a pretty significant off-season in Chicago. I think the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks could really cook next season. I know the Hawks have a lot of draft capital and the farm system seems strong. Would love to see this team get very aggressive in the FA and Trade market.
they’re going to need some of those second tier prospects to breakthrough (nazar, Moore, rinzel). Had a lot of hope for reichel coming into the year but so far he looks like a good bottom 6 winger to me
Those guys are 1st round picks... I don't consider them 2nd tier prospects. But I do agree on the larger point. Reichel has disappointed me. Thought he be a top 6 player and I don't think it's clicked.
he has one more year as a rfa, realistically speaking what gets that done. This and next years first? Tampa’s first this year, next years first and a non-Nazar prospect get it done?
I don't see Chicago moving it's 1st this year till they see the results of that lotto. If they land 1.1 I don't see them packaging that pick off.
If they do they don’t utilize it like NBA guys do. NTC’s and NMC’s help as well as modified versions but it’s definitely not like the NBA.
I feel like soccer and then NBA athletes have the most say in transfers/trades. After that you have a clear dip and most of the other sports I follow closely basically trade people to the best returns outside of NTC
my thought would be the hawks would wait to see if they get 1 this year before trading it but say top 5 protected this year no protections next year
https://theathletic.com/5111795/202...-prospect-analysis/?source=emp_shared_article Frank Nazar (F, Chicago Blackhawks): Nazar’s best skill — his ability to get out and go in transition — was on display all tournament long. He was extremely impressive creating off the rush, especially as a passer, where he executed some beautiful cross-ice passes from out wide. It still came with the odd time where he was too far in front of the play trying to get open down ice, but it was really clicking more often than not. Impressive touch on the puck. He was one of the better American forwards. Oliver Moore (F, Chicago Blackhawks): Bounced between 13th forward and the first line as a bug went through the team. Thought he looked like he belonged up top for the most part, playing with his usual speed and tenacity, and flashing his shot and quick hands as well. Two great looks in the second period of the semi that he couldn’t finish, though, and when Snuggerud scored on the power play he moved back down. Does still need to think the game a little better with the puck at times. Sam Rinzel (D, Chicago Blackhawks): Still a little haywire. You can see it. The tools. But the play selection needs some buttoning up, too. Ugly turnover on the 1-0 goal in the semifinal and really struggled throughout the game. Adam Gajan (G, Chicago Blackhawks): Has always had the athletic ability and the skill, but he’s tracking and finding pucks better. Really good down low but stays up just long enough to make shoulder/high-blocker saves. Outstanding going left-to-right and one-on-one with shooters on breakaways. Fights for pucks on scrambles and holds his pads down when he’s splayed out. Big fan.
Tremendous from the boys tonight, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory (conceding twice in the final 3 minutes to lose 2-1) on a night where the Sharks won. That’s what we’re talking about!
know hockey schedules can be completely bizarre at times but following this tank and the Sharks will be off from January 31st to February 14th lol
Point for Bedard on his return, 4-1 loss, Sharks and Ducks both win. Profit. Excited about Silayev’s emergence in the event we miss out on Macklin
What’s Silayev’s comp? Tyler Myers? Chara? Oleksiak? Seems like a bit of a unicorn prospect but also there’s talk amongst scouts that the KHL is the worst it’s been in over a decade by a significant margin (for a number of reasons).
id defer to you but have read he moves extremely well/skating is plus skill so if thats the case at his size, that’s incredibly exciting My meathead take is I’ve always wanted a Victor Hedman
Was at the game and I went to take a piss after they tied and then lost as I was walking out of the bathroom
Button has Del Mastro in his top 50 affiliated prospects, so bit of a low ranking here. If both him and Rinzel pan out, really have a nice stable of young D.
