Cam Newton heard about an early Halloween party for a boy with cancer, so he showed up with an ice cream truck By James Dator @James_Dator on Sep 26, 2015, 8:42a + TWEET SHARE PIN Cam Newton is no stranger to reaching out and helping kids. The Carolina Panthers' quarterback has bought Christmas presents for underprivileged children, each year he funds the Boys & Girls Club holiday party in Charlotte and on Friday night he helped make a Friday night in September unforgettable for one little boy. The fact that Cam Newton came to Elijah's Halloween block party, made him so happy! #prayersforelijah pic.twitter.com/w9NFmTX2ZI — Kaylee Bravo (@kaayleemarrie) September 26, 2015 Ten-year-old Elijah Hughes loves Halloween. It's his favorite holiday. He is also battling a rare form a cancer, and doctors are unsure if he'll make it to October 31. A community rallied around the little boy, and on Friday night they held Halloween early. Elijah dressed like The Joker, dozens of children joined him in wearing their costumes early -- and there was one surprise guest. Cam Newton had heard about the party and not only did the NFL quarterback make an appearance, he brought an ice cream truck and brownies. Then spent the evening with the kids and helped make everyone forget why they were there -- which is everything. It's Cam Newton guys. He got us an ice-cream truck and brownies.pic.twitter.com/6TWFumx8YT — Hanѕel Wei (@darkmastermindz) September 25, 2015 What does a superhero look like? It's not kids in costume on Halloween, or an NFL quarterback front-flipping into the end zone -- it's a person who traveled an hour from their house to help brighten and uplift a community during a difficult time. Watching the ESPN piece really wet my eyes. I'm so glad our organization and our players are so involved in the community. Really would be nice to have another Cinderella season like 2003. I wish we could have won it all for Sam ;_;
Story as really sad. It was an awesome story though. I hate when I have to see young kids seeing the end of their lives so soon. It's terrifying. Prayers go out to his family. Also, Cam Newton is a class act. I really like the dude. I wanted to hate him so bad when he was at auburn but he's a good dude with a giant heart. Really enjoy pulling for him in the NFL.
Also to all the pundits who kept saying that Kapernick was better than Cam for the last few years. Look what's happening now that that he doesn't have a super team around him.
had to listen to the game on the radio and just saw normans pick. ridiculous play. I really want him to turn into a shut down corner.
Doubt that'll happen. But who knows, if we had just one WR1 we could easily make a run for playoffs. Defense is doing well minus giving McCown a career game. Also we lead the NFC south in jersey sales. HAHA!
With the Bears paying his salary why not kick the tires on Allen? If he sucks, who cares. Also we have to get another body at WR. Ted Ginn as our top WR isn't gonna cut it.
Steve Smith making a fool of himself. He's so fucking bitter on the inside and has it out for former teammates apparently. Got his shit hit inbounds, legal hit and puts former Panther Mike Mitchell on his 'hitlist'. Mitchell wasn't even the guy in on the hit. I'm really starting to see why Gettleman didn't want him back in the locker room if he's still that hostile towards teammates. Nothing changed from the early days.
He acts just like an old man. Mad with the world and looking for a fight or using words as weapons. Great example to set for younger team mates to hold grudges off the field from ingame plays and commit assault and battery.
Yea smith isn't coming back. He was shipped off because he's a volatile asshole, not because his talent was diminished.
Have no idea. We all knew TB was garbage and we got the saints without Brees. Got a pretty tough stretch coming up. Assume we will lose to Seattle and Green Bay. Get Eagles and Colts at home. Go 2-2 on that stretch, head into second half of season at 6-2 and we can sneak into the playoffs. Atlanta is playing lights out right now though.
Yea I'm going to the home game against ATL in January and am pretty pumped that it will potentially decide the division.
How the hell are we 4-0?
Combo of playing well especial Cam and playing 4 bottom tier teams early...not a lot of wins between Jax, Houston, Saints sans Bree's and Tampa this year in my opinion. Schedule gets tougher after the bye but NFC East is pretty weak overall so even if we don't win South the Wild Card is in play.
Falcon Panther matchups will decide alot this season. And they're playing with alot of moxie. I'm just hoping we can split the series with them because I think their defense won't have much trouble stopping our WRs much. Damn if KB was playing I'd pick us to win the NFC providing Green Bay has a hickup in the playoffs.
