Obviously there’s business reasons for everything but mk11 had a longer life potential if they just supported it for another year or so. Game was made incredibly well and could have stayed on the esports circuit as-is for a while. But hey I’ll take a new one even though I spend more time with 1,2,3 on my at home cabinet.
I'd assume he means June 1 announcement? Mk1 feels like it just happened with the amount of time travel in the new generation of games.
So it would probably just follow the tournament and not all the military type of stuff. Just my guess. Probably something to do with Chronika or whoever takes over the time stuff
The time travel is definitely still part of it. I think she was in an original teaser too? my thought is that they break time to go back to the original tournament. So it’s kind of like a reboot but it’s through the canon of the MK11 story. MK1 probably deserves a bit of a reboot so I’m cool with it. It’s also worth thinking about when the next movie is releasing which is also supposed to get into the original tournament. oh just had a thought Maybe this is the way to introduce Cole into the MK1 game timeline.

GOOD LORD THIS IS BRUTAL loved it all.
Game looks phenomenal. I just have no idea what kind of game it is. it was also hit the $70 price point on Switch that only Zelda has asked for.
I've always loved the lore of Mortal Kombat. Just not into fighting games anymore. If they did a Mortal Kombat in the style of God of War or something like that I would be all over it.
Krypt was terrible. Probably my least liked part of the game. I forget the number but wasn’t it like a ton of hours or a ton of money to unlock everything?
did not expect to see stryker back. wondering if he's fully playable or if their kameo feature is only a few moves and not a full on character.
I know they’re revamping the whole thing and I’m gonna play it but the characters and costumes and whatnot look horrible.
definitely the old mortal kombat 1 uniforms and such, but they did look a bit plasticy and bright for a mk1 game. i dunno im not getting an "evil" vibe right now from it... its like diablo 3 compared to 2 or 4 vibe .
I think the game looks great and I like the classic looks much more than the zombie shit that’s been sticking around. I’m just interested in this whole “Liu kang is the protector now” and raiden is the teenager with an attitude guy thing. It sure if it’s good or bad. Just…interesting. I just hope they get rid of the “freeze frame” fatality art direction they had for mk11
Wouldn’t this be from the storyline for 11 with the resting of time and Raiden making Liu Kang protector? He just reset time back to before they were all in the tournament.
Sub-Zero girl frost is back in it. thought smoke was johnny cage with a ninja outfit on at first. love rain, like having him and smoke back, but kinda wish the cyborgs weren't kameo characters and were main ones. used to destroy with sektor. also is it safe to assume scorpion is now apart of the lin kuei?????
Trailer is great. I’m very intrigued by the background of the story here. I’m wondering if Quan Chi never duped scorpion and kills his family. So him and sub zero are never enemies. But then is there no Shirai Ryu?
I saw where JK Simmons is doing the voice for Omni-Man. I wonder if Cena and Star will for their characters.

Mid 30s. About same as most here. I'll end up getting it but it's something about the bright aesthetic and a lot more of the b and c list characters included from the mk4 era and on that I just don't have an affinity for nor think look all that interesting or great - no excitement for them. Havik was only one that stood out to me. Mainly played MK1-MK3 and fell off after until MK9. The general style is just less dark, which I get given the story and all. I'm hopeful and do think it'll likely dip into the dark after a bit though as the story takes shape, just isn't getting shown in the trailers. But in general almost has a more cartoonish look to the visuals than the previous recent entries. but it'll likely be awesome. just have been less than enthused by a decent amount of what i've seen as far as visuals and characters.
the beta feels a lot like an earlier MK and the game is just brighter over all, I guess I just love revisiting these weird characters
