Yeah I still like this show, but pacing has been the major issue of basically all the D+ shows. There’s only 6 episodes in this season, and I’m starting to get a bit nervous it’s going to have to rush at the end like the others. It’s the reason the season finales in these shows have largely been disappointing
I have no issues with the pacing at all and enjoy them spending time showing the struggle between his personalities.
Same. The disassociate identity disorder is the central tenent to the character. I think they’ve done a great job so far.
I loved that episode. The pacing was perfect for me as someone who knows nothing about the character. Isaac has been incredible so far, too. Not sure how many actors could pull this off like he has, but seems like that's a short list.
well in terms of acts, if done equally, ep 1 & 2 are the first act and the ending of ep 2 was a good end to an act to segue into the next one the difference between this show and all the other ones is that this is a new character and there is no previous character arch/explanation brought to it so they need to take the time to get everyone into who the character is which, so far, I dont think they've failed at pacing with
I think that’s really fair. I rewatched the episode and didn’t have an issue. I’ve been dealing with some insomnia lately, so I initially watched both episodes at 2 in the morning when they dropped so that’s definitely a contributing factor to the issue from my previous post.
I will also say im not the biggest marvel fan and I think most of their stuff has third act issues, especially these shows, so I dont disagree with that part of your take. But so far, i've enjoyed this show the most bc they are forced to bring you into the character. I think that has made them make this like any other show, as opposed to the other ones from the last year.
Presents as immeasurably meek and passive, but still brave enough to talk back to a closing group of fanatics and fighting an ancient Egyptian jackal to save a woman he just met.
Loved that episode, felt like something out of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Wonder if we get to officially meet personality three next week?
Comic info question that is a spoiler Spoiler What in the hell is Jake up to? I guess if Steven can go from billionaire to gift shop guy, Jake can go from taxi driver to murderous psychopath. In the credits towards the end it flashes Steven’s apartment hallway, then Mark’s storage facility hallway, then a hospital hallway. I bet they introduce Jake in a flashback episode to when he was institutionalized and end the episode with a St Elsewhere’s cliffhanger.
Sucks he died in a skiing accident. Did they kill him off in this episode or will he show up in future episodes this season?
Can we take a minute to talk about how perfect all of Oscar Isaac’s character transitions were in this episode?
really enjoyed how they kept the transitions the same as marc goes to stephen and stephen to marc from ep 1/2
Really enjoying this, and Oscar has been phenomenal. This series has the same kind of intrigue that Loki had for me and may end up as my favorite. Really knew/know nothing of the MK story, but I'm sucked into this 100%.
Feel like it’s the 3rd personality killed Layla’s dad and Marc came to with a bloody knife in his hand and didn’t know wtf happened.
