It’s been talked about in the Mike Leach to State thread for hours. Should probably merge this thread into that one.
Was just going ready to start a thread on this. I’m guessing people had missed the news earlier today
Whatever, just figured it best to keep the discussion in one thread. It’s pretty easy to change a thread title. Don’t really care either way.
I don’t like Leach in the slightest, but his heart/brain exploding in his 60’s is absolutely shitty to see. The fragility of life is a brutal pill to swallow.
yea there had been a ton of speculation he was going to retire shortly after the season too b/c of it
Just got this from a friend: I have now heard from multiple sources that Leach lost a pulse and went into cardiac arrest but was revived and intubated and sent to UMC where he was taken straight to cath lab. Not sure about anything after that Just got update from 2 different people but basically: “He did have massive heart attack. He just got out of the cath lab and is up in the ICU now on an ecmo. The fact that he was in the cath lab for so long is worrisome. He’s coded multiple times today. I’m told they’re worried about the lack of oxygen to his brain. They’ve had to defib him several times with max power. Hearing it will be a miracle if he makes it."
It’s remarkable how many people always choose to just be massive pieces of shit in threads like this instead of just being decent human beings or not saying anything at all. The guy is a person just like the rest of us. Hope he pulls through
You mean like when you got all bent out of shape that an American citizen was brought home who wasn’t a troop?
And we’d never know how enlightened of a nopolotoks stable genius you were if you didn’t do this same routine constantly.
Amen Fuck anyone that was gonna say " he must have popped in the Illinois defense tapes" Hope he makes a full recovery
Poster on the Florida On3 board wrote this. Probably bullshit, but I really hope it’s not true: I thought this warranted a new thread. I have some inside sources that essentially told me that he has passed away. To synthesize what I was told, the best working hypothesis is massive heart attack. Life flighted from Starkville to Jackson (UMMC, I use to work there). Placed on life-support, mechanical ventilator, and arterial/venous ECMO for likely cardiogenic shock with refractory hypoxemia. Basically a bypass machine. They are waiting for family to arrive to draw the support, but the report is he’s already gone.
I ran into Mike Leach at the AFCA convention in Orlando right after he got shitcanned by Texas Tech. He was wearing a $10 windbreaker, cargo shorts, and sandals and was posted up at the lobby bar, drunk as a skunk. I have nothing else to add to this thread.
No idea if this is true or not, but it certainly makes sense given the various social media posts from people close to him
