the way matchmaking works it's very close to not pay to win at all. spending helps a very small amount but there's very little incentive to do so beyond card skins that do nothing but look fancy. just ask You how much it has helped him. very fun game. different than all other card games in some major ways.
Traditionally get bored with card games and the niche meta that tends to happen within the player base in waves...but I'm also a sucker for all things Marvel content. I'll probably give it a shot.
it's a 6 turn game and a 12 card deck, literally designed because someone mentioned to Ben Brode they wished there was a game to play on the toilet. there's probably 8+ viable deck archetypes at the top of the meta and a lot of flexibility within those. outside of exactly one card so far (Shuri, who will be getting reworked next week) there's hasn't really been a card come in that has really dominated for a long period of time. they've done a good job balancing so far and as of next week we'll be having one monthly big patch and weekly small patch so it should only get better and even less stale.
This is encouraging. Too often, these turn-based games - card and otherwise - get billed as "play a million different ways", and then you play and there's a constant rotation of seeing the same deck/team as opponents. You either match it or flail and move to another game.
Yeah, the way the decks work, there’s no one deck to rule them all. Some decks, on average, do better, but the variety of cards and locations makes it where there is no sure thing. I’ve spent a good amount of money in the game, just for cosmetics and to get newly released cards earlier, but they were never meta-defining cards, and they are more easily attainable, through natural progression, the more time passes. Enjoyable game, imo
one of the brilliant things is everything can be countered (except shuri for another week) and for the most part the game gives you all of the important counter cards very early. there's an insane amount of depth to it considering deck size and game length.
Play this way too much but 70 was as high as I could get. I only spend the monthly $10 for the monthly seasons which seems like a pretty good deal for the entertainment factor.
Cosmo is easily avoided and doesn't appear in any of the decks that are winning tournaments. Shuri red skull taskmaster is a zero skill faceroll combo that has dominated the meta for months.
i mean, shuri isn't really showing up in tournaments because of how obvious the deck is. comso isn't easily avoidable at all, it's literally only card in the game without a counter and sits there protecting the non taskmaster lane, again without any counters.
Hovering around level50 and have hit a plateau. I'm good with my current deck but I think I need to find another to break into the next echelon.
I have hit my typical plateau in the 70s. Absolutely flailing trying to figure out what deck to try to get higher
Oh looks like you're still in a very low card level. I'd probably just run a moon girl+devil dino deck and watch the wins roll in
I didn't know what CL is. To be honest, I just haven't really fucked with my deck a bunch since I started. I've got others...just haven't been quick to sub them in. Looking at the available list, I'm defintiely still way down there. CL is 516
I think your best bets to great success in pool 1 is: Moon girl+devil dino (turn 4 moon girl, turn 5 devil dino, turn 6 another devil dino) Or A shitload of 1 cost cards, kazar, blue marvel, and onslaught. Those are both extremely hard to deal with at low card levels
That’s all I’m ever able to hit as well. I’m always one meta card short it seems. Finally bought Shuri then they nerfed her that week.
Want to try out something along these lines but I'm missing Human Torch and Dagger. Any suggested replacements?
Feel like the rewards for higher season tiers should be better Think I've topped out in the 80s for the season. Working on putting together the High Evolutionary deck for next season...have the card pinned currently.
Watching people in lower levels add a card(s) to the lone location they’re already winning on turn 6, instead of retreating, is always baffling. Thanks for the 4 free points.
