Man I honestly am not mad just disgusted more than anything. I honestly just feel fucking so bad for those kids man. Fuck that entire coaching staff for doing that to them
Mr. Erik Spolstra is a bad coach likes to follow me around on the board like anyone should care what he thinks about sports
In all seriousness be safe and smart. As a kid I heard “the sun will come up tomorrow” and it always did.
Mario is a control freak. Won’t let a social go out without his approval and it’s never good enough on the first edit, he always has to make a change. They were probably too afraid to speak up.
Oregon wasn’t even a favorite, let alone a big one. Bryce Love was the CFB darling at that point, and the such. I think Bud Elliott sucks because of his 2015 CFP meltdowns after the Oregon game, only reason I’m offering a Mario correction.
Seems to at least usually have some substance to back up stuff but hard to ever take him seriously after his "Bjorn Werner draws fewer holding calls because he's white" (I'm only simplifying it but a minor percentage).
Saban is also a control freak. Most elite coaches are. There are control freaks and then there are “control freaks.” Whatever he took away from the analyst car wash was not processed correctly.
Seems a legit problem with oline coaches turned head coaches is trusting the line too much and being too conservative. Get the impression he likes to meddle which would make sense. In the older days before recruiting became the end all be all thing he'd never sniff an OC position let alone be a head coach but times change.
Iirc it was because he had a soccer background in a country where flopping is hated and wasn't willing to sell the holding calls; nothing to do with race unless I'm forgetting something. A fairly dubious assertion on its own
Yes, guy got a little too loose last night cause after the loss and probably got a very strongly worded email or voicemail from Mario
Kevin Steele, Gattis and Ponce are the ones that left from last years staff. Unless it was like ball boy or something
You're shocked the guy who got boatraced by a god awful MTSU team at home last year can't beat ACC teams?
SEC win counts the same as 5 ACCs Curse of the Orange Bowl so strong it stops coaches' neurons firing correctly with less than 40 secs left
What's hilarious is last season you and I had all those back and forths about Cristobal and I was ready to come hat and hand and give you your props.... THEN HE FUCKING DID THIS
You can't blame the kid for running the play Dawson called and Cristobal obviously ok'd but I'd also love for someone to ask our braindead 4th yr QB why on earth did you hand that ball off. You know how to tell time and do addition and subtraction right? I'd also like him to ask why it had to even get to that point against a dogshit GT team because he kept throwing balls directly into the hands and chests of GT defenders all night.
Honestly, yes. He won 5 games last year...I would have guessed that at least one was a home conference game.
Everything I thought about Cristobal as a HC was looking pretty spot on up until that snap . He'd build a legit roster quickly, especially putting massive resources into the OL and DL where you win the big games and by year 2 we controlled the LOS against an Aggie DL that has terrorized other squads and we absolutely manhandled everyone on the schedule so far physically. Recruiting wise he'd take us to a level we haven't been in at least a decade, probably longer. He'd start keeping the lions share of the important Dade/Broward kids home, get us into the mix and land some elite 5* OOS kids. Most importantly, I thought he'd build a real program where the was an actual football culture and the team could withstand games like this where your QB is a turnover machine against an inferior opponent. I actually, stupidly, even had more hope after TVD threw the third pick that gave Tech the ball on the Canes' 20 and for the first time in 15 years the defense didn't immediately quit, held them to a FG and the offense came back out and went right down the field to tie the game, followed by James Williams' pick. Same thing in the Aggie game where they looked like they were going to get blown out of the building in the first qtr after the muffed punt and the team fought back and won. I was super worried he'd be a dinosaur on gameday but he's been aggressive at all the right times with 4th down decisions and follows what a modern smart coach would do situationally when the Canes have the ball. I thought gameday could be an issue like it was under Butch (timeouts/clock gaffes/4th down decisions) since he showed that at Oregon but NEVER EVER EVER DID I THINK THE DUDE WOULDN'T KNEEL THE FUCKING BALL with the lead, under 40 secs left and the other team with no timeouts. I imagine he just erased every single inch of progress he made in turning over that locker room with one play call. Just amazing stupidity. I'll check back in whenever the 8 years that's left on his contract are up and get excited in the recruiting thread I guess.
1. He’s flipped the roster and is recruiting at a high level 2. His QB is a potato with zero personality and miss me with any Herbert/Mario parallels. He fucking sucks and his teammates seem like they dislike him more than the fanbase does 3. He’s the worst gameday coach in America all of these things can be true and the best that’s ever going to get you is 9-3/10-2 if things break perfectly
now imagine being up 17-0 at home to the Jeff Simms version of this shit sandwich and still losing sending your team into a death spiral to finish the year
