right when i think i know exactly what's happening i just don't want it to get too fucky for people to stop watching and get cancelled
There will most likely be a twist, but they're starting to make it pretty clear the "entity" in his head is the Shadow King.
I could get behind that. That would fit with what the neurologist was saying when he was being broadcast in the sky 100%. Also during that scene at one point in time someone walks past the window behind him and I was for sure Lenny/Benny/fatty was going to jump out and murder him.
I think I'm to the point where I'm going to record the entire season and binge watch. This is a mental show and I think I'd like to just got all the questions answered in one viewing. That is if they answer questions this season.
First time I feel a little lost. Seems like Aubrey Plaza/the blob dude put David in a mental prison of sorts. But are the rest in it with him, or are they just manifestations within that mental space? Or is all of that just completely off and I dont know what the fuck is going on
Wasnt a great episode outside of Aubrey Plaza dancing. They may be trapped in his mind or he may be able to create alternate dimensions?
Just watched. My interpretation is that everyone is still in the room with the gun shots and everything in this episode took place in the astral plane. No different from when David met the man in the ice cube or the "white room" he created to bang Syd. Obviously the demon/monster/shadow king whatever we want to call it has control of his mind and that reality now. That's why the scuba diver is slowly breaking all of them out of the "hospital", he's been in the astral plane for decades. But everything could be completely different next week.
Yeah David projected them into that realm to avoid the gunshot that poodlehair dude sent his way and that Syd is standing in front of now.
So the showrunners let it slip who the yellow eyed demon is..: Spoiler It's the Shadow King. Not really a big surprise after all the talk about the entity hating David's father, and why David was hidden as a child.
last episode was bizarre af But blondie, I think she's a bit like Rogue and is able to still keep some of the power. That's why she's able to question the world she's in. But this unreliable narrator shit is blowing my mind and I think i'll need to rewatch the series. 100% rewatch before Season 2
Fucking loved it. I said a month ago I hope they keep pulling back layers and layers showing us what's going on, which they have brilliantly, but hell for all we know in a blink of an eye it'll change next episode. Aubrey Plaza has been brilliant in the past few episodes. And from the looks of the next episode the shadow king will still be running the show in season 2. Very happy about that because he's way too powerful of a foe to waste on season 1. Not really a spider below Spoiler His Patrick Stewart impersonation while writing on the chalk board was great.
Aubrey Plaza has been amazing and this is such a terrific role for her. Especially since she has zero fucks to give and goes all out Curious how the season finale will turn out. I think he will end up letting the king out on purpose to help and yea it will be the overall antagonist for at least season 2 if not the whole series. He can easily transfer to another body I like they took the halo idea from the comics. Forgot who originally had the halo in the comics
Finally watched this week's episode. Thought it more than made up for last week's. Finale looks promising.
So they finally got the shadow king out of David. Only to go into the scientist and use his sciencey scuba gear to capture David?
I thought it looked like the head part, modified. I could be wrong as well. Oh well. Enjoyed the show. Will watch season 2.
I guess there could be another option related to that universe for people familiar somewhat with the backstory. Spoiler Could be his dad, although I honestly have no idea how much they interact in the comics
Jermaine Clement and Aubrey Plaza as a shadow king tag team is just an incredible turn of events. The poke ball thing must be the "equinox" that the D3(or 2 or 1 whoever they were) said to send in. I wonder if now that the shadow kind "gone" they'll dive more into Davids multiple personality disorder. Also I wonder why Lenny wanted to go "south" or "someplace warm"?
So, lame "I finally binged the series" bump, but here we go. This show is trippy as balls, but it is such a joy at any given present moment. The wild, bright color palettes, the quirky playful music and audio cues, the distinctive shapes and unreality of so many set pieces. A show about a wildly complicated character like Legion, made me feel rather than just tell me what it's like to constantly question whether the world around you is real at all. That sense of trying to navigate while drifting without a compass. The wonderfully absurd dance number in the mental hospital, Lenny's bond movie opening credits dance, the animation of the chalkboards, and that exquisite silent movie portion. To me, this show is creatively stunning enough that the actual "what's really going on here" sort of answers barely even matter to me. Sure, I'm curious, but not in the same way I want to know what happens next in something like game of thrones. I like that I was able to binge this show rather than having to watch and wait a week. Two sessions to watch the first season worked out well for me, and starting with ep5 was a pretty awesome way to start the last half. Kind of a tangent point, since I genuinely enjoy the unapologetic wackiness, but I can understand how some might be concerned that the strangeness could turn off weekly viewers, but it sure does work when you can just click on the next episode.
Is everyone back for Season 2? Heard there were some conflicts for some actors. Hope they worked it out.
