yeah its a loss and you move on to the next days play. A loss doesn't happen much based off what the previous records indicated.
So, if both lose, we are out three units. The next game we play, we start back at 1 unit for each 1st qtr game we play. There isn't chasing from game to game, am I understanding this correctly?
I'm kinda glad I lost that OKC play. I decided to re assess this system using baseball betting mentality. For those of you that don't bet on baseball, I'll briefly explain how you can have a winning record but be on the minus side of your bankroll. You play the following 4 plays: Cliff Lee's first start for Tex against Seattle went off at -430 to win 100 Any random starter at -110 to win 100 Any random starter at -110 to win 100 Any random starter at -110 to win 100 You lose the first, but win the other three, your record is 3-1, but you're down -460 on the day. Ouch! If this system hits at 70% ,which is pretty good, let's check risk vs reward. I'm not going to factor in juice to try to keep it simple. 7 wins with all the wins coming in the 1q would be 7U risked to win 14U whereas 3 losses would equal -3U each for -9U. So hitting all 1q bets, you'd be risking a total of 16U to win 14U. If you won 7 of 10 3q bets, it would be 30U to win 28U. If you start with $700 and play 10 straight plays, hitting the first 7, you'll have a $1400 bankroll. Losing the next 3 would drop you to $500. So a system like this 7-3 is not 70%, but 44%. (7U won/16U played) Thanks Key, at first glance this system looks like the tits. After another look, I think it's a little too high risk to me.

Here is where the system dominates, If you were unlucky and lost 2 quarters in a row and lost 3 units in 1 game, then in the following game’s 1st Quarter you would bet 3* in order to neutralize any losses suffered to the bankroll. Thankfully there has never been 2 games that have lost back to back dating back to 2004. Also I know the 3 unit loss is tough but remember its about the long haul and if you profit over the course of the season, thats what we're after. Here were the totals from Rainmans system also on the first page. Granted these numbers are from 2007 back, you can still get a feel what I'm talking about. Still alot of money made Year Of 2004-2005 120-34 78.43% +8450$ ( Betting 100$ Per Game ) Year Of 2005-2006 9700 97-24 80.17% +7205$ ( Betting 100$ Per Game ) Year Of 2006-2007 (Year To Date) 47-6 88.86% +4075$ ( Betting 100$ Per Game )
so, bc OKC lost both the 1st and 3rd qtr....the next bet the be placed will be worth 3 units to break even on the OKC game. Am i understanding that correctly? If it wins, we lay off the 3rd qtr. if it loses, what would the 3rd qtr play be?
No, don't play catch up. Start every new game with 1 unit. If the 1st quarter doesn't hit make the 3rd 2 units.
are those system totals, or per games bet totals? i ask b/c, as heel pointed out, if those are system totals, then the profits are inflated. for instance, in year 06-07, if 47-6 is the system total, then you actually lost more than 6 units. you lost 18 units. obviously still making a significant amount of money, but nowhere near as much as is claimed.
i interpreted it as this: 1st qt loss, 3rd qtr win = win, bc you won 1 unit. (lose 1 unit, win 2 units) 1st qt win = win 1st qt loss, 3rd qtr loss = 1 loss for the system, -3 U
I'm not trying to impress anyone, but I exempted all college math in high school. If anyone can show me any way that these win and losses end up with the final profit margin I would appreciate it. Every loss is -3U. Every win after that is +3U. That means that to be profitable, all the other plays would have had to have hit the 1q play (and I still haven't factored in juice to keep it simple) and any play that hit the 3q(played at -150(no juice) $300 to win $200) would have brought the total profit down. It's amazing how close the profit margins are to the optimum per bets made. Again, don't think win/loss, look at it as units played. BOL to all that tail. I pass.
I hope that I didn't piss Key off about this system as it wasn't my intention. He is one of my favorite posters on this site. I know he only brought this here to make us money. What I know of betting will not permit me to play this system. BOL to those that do, I hope you guys make some bank.

can someone please explain this system to me? ive read the thread and i think i have it down but i feel like i might be missing something. essentially you make a pick, bet it for 1 unit 1st quarter, and if it hits you walk away. but if it doesnt, you hit the same play 3rd quarter? thats it? is it possible that i am retarded?
you are correct, but I'm not longer playing this system as it didn't fare to well for me. Maybe I did it wrong, but it burned me.
