He checks ALL the boxes here. Consistently, and to be fair, as do most blowhard university administrators. I hate Most of them, for this reason. They’re destroying higher education. I mostly just feel sorry for UNL in general in having appointed yet another lib windbag. The results you see before you in the quality of college graduates over recent years. Keeps getting measurably worse. We’ve been Overtly devolving for decades.
My point was and still is that a lot (Most) of the drama around our university in recent years has stemmed from internal politics. Fact. This guy is as Lib Activist as they come, and YES he’s alienated a lot of folks over it. And of course I can’t spew out any meaningful percentages here, suffice it to say Most of the guys and gals that are or have been associated w/ UNMC, those in my circle (50 year-olds, admittedly), don’t like the guy Because of these things.

One of my coworkers is a devote catholic and was particularly upset that she got another day off work when the government decided to recognize Juneteenth as a national holiday. She didn’t seem to understand that not everyone celebrates her preferred religious holidays like Christmas, but they still gladly take the day off. I’d be cool helping folks celebrate Ramadan and Hanukkah if that means more paid holidays. edit: I know Juneteenth isn’t a religious holiday, just saying since she doesn’t celebrate the holiday nobody should

One thing that managing people has taught me is that Americans are the most cucked people on Earth. Days off? Communism. WTF am I supposed to do? Spend time with my friends and family? Sleep in? I have people who work on their days off because they don't know what else to do with their time. I've got people who don't take time off after their ETO stops accruing. People will have to do work on the weekends so I tell them to take off during the week and not log it and they still work! We have a deeply sick society.
Stock market being closed for good Friday has never made sense to me. My ass obviously stays home and I don't feel bad, it's just weird.
