I really wanted to love this show. Ended up liking it much more than the rest of this thread, maybe because I just loved the premise so much.

Finished it up last night. It got a little slow in the middle, but the last few episodes were pretty good. I’m impressed, my wife called Eva by episode 4 or 5. I was a little disappointed they gave away the identity of the wolf so early (the person telling him he was good at changing his accent).

Im not really sure what some of you guys were expecting. It wasn’t historically accurate? Really? Who cares? It wasn’t groundbreaking television, but it was entertaining at the very least.

I didn't care about historical inaccuracies. What I couldn't get past was the way the show swung from showing some horrible scene in a concentration camp to a stupid dance-along version of Stayin Alive.

That and the fact that the main character strained credulity too much for me to care about him at all. The kid was a fucking Jew who watched his concentration camp survivor grandma be murdered by a Nazi, but he acted like they were killing newborn puppies anytime they actually meted out some justice. He had a fucking crisis of conscience over taking part in Shitty AMC Show of the same degenerate war criminal who actually killed his grandma, only after he was too much of a giant pussy to kill the dude himself after the guy shot him with darts and made it clear that he was about to torture and kill him. It just made no fucking sense and was so annoying.

"I don't know if I can stab this guy in the throat after he killed a chessboard full of Jews in WW2, after he killed my grandma, and now after he has tortured and tried to kill me....I just don't think I can kill this guy....and can I please say a fucking Jewish prayer for the piano player prick who used to murder Jews based on their singing voices for fun as the rest of the camp listened." GTFO with that shit. Who the fuck thought that was good writing? So fucking stupid and insulting.

I take it you didn’t watch the whole season?

Fuck no. Two and a half episodes was enough. I think the Stayin Alive cut to his grandma’s younger self was the breaking point. The dialogue was also frequently horrible, like it was written by Kevin Smith.

So watch it like a Kevin Smith show/movie

You seem to have set your expectations at a level it was liked never going to reach, and never gave it a shot

It was good overall but the trailer and premise made it seem like an all timer. I was super psyched when it started. Lulled me in the middle. Picked back up Ep 6/7/8ish when the Nazi plot started coming together. The twist at the end didn’t really “holy shit” me like I’m sure they were expected. Watching a Prime show like The Boys immediate after I’m done streaming I’m looking up for season 2. In this case I’ll watch a second season but I’m not psyched about it.

watched the first episode last night and it was okay. Hoping for more violence because those scenes were pretty sweet

Halfway through episode five and this is so underwhelming

Tons of lengthy monologues. Minimal violence against Nazis so far, in fact they've shown more flashbacks to concentration camps than Nazi's being hunted or killed

FBI agent seems more eager to take down the group than understanding what is going on with the Nazi's. And why do we need to follow her love life?

And jfc Jonah offering that Nazi a glass of water???

The actor playing the psycho American Nazi is awful

This old couple who lost their son in the Holocaust

They get the man who killed him gifted to them in their basement after joining a group that hunts Nazis. And we have to waste all this time watching them agonize over whether it's right to kill him???

And why is Pacino cool with that nun lady immediately after she goes rogue and fucks over Jonah and Joe????

Really only continuing to watch because my dad seems into it to some extent

Pacino tells newly corrupt FBI lady about a plan to attack NYC and she doesn't even bother to inquire about it?? Her storyline is brutal

Wasting time showing Jonah refuse to get the rest of the passengers off a train with a bomb on it? He's such a dipshit pussy

Season 2 just dropped. I remember I watched this, but had zero idea if I liked it or not. Felt like it the first season came out 5 years ago. Nope - Feb 2020. The very beginning of the Pandemic. Feel like so much longer

Bailed after 5 eps in season 1. As far as revenge series go, there was not nearly enough of it that was at all satisfying. The Nazis were still winning, so I said f it ...
