Horizon- Forbidden West 2/18/22

Try this

- Go to settings
- scroll down to save game data
- click save game data (PS5)
- click cloud storage, wait for it load, and see if the game data is there.
- if it’s there, redownload it from the cloud

This game is so beautiful. Also I totally forgot how combat works since I’ve been playing Witcher 3 so much. Did they make the bad guy Elon musk?

 

I totally forgot how to play. Had to google how to use my focus again.

 

Somebody I follow who used to work at IGN mentioned it, and I agree, but it would be awesome if games offered a little combat reminder tutorial for returning gamers, lol.

 

Just about finished with zero dawn. Haven't done all the side quests and stuff but I'll go back and do those later. Want to start Forbidden West.

Man, just take your time and do the side quests. It's worth it. Forbidden West isn't going anywhere, and you're not likely to get hit with a huge spoiler or anything in the meantime.

 

Ive done most of them. Doing frozen wilds now before the last two main quests.
I really meant more the stuff like all the hunters camps, all the metal flowers things like that.
I'll get too bored doing those.

 

I’d do all the story based stuff. Never been much of a completionist outside of GOW:R and Spider-Man

So, how do you feel about Zero Dawn now that you’ve played and beat it?

 

I really liked it. Hate that it took me so long to finally play it.
It's up there with God of War, Last of Us and Ghosts of Tshushima for me.

Forbidden West is really great, you'll love it.
I'm about 3 hours into Burning Shores, really like it, l love the wide open environment and all the water, the combat is tougher but really satisfying.

Yeah i got wrecked on several fights, and it seems like you're always up against packs of machines. Its doable but you really need to be well stocked and pay attention to each machine's weaknesses

 

What is everyone’s primary loadout?

 

Is the combat tougher or are we all (minus Jax Teller ) a little rusty from not having played in a while?

 

I was rusty to start but I legit think it is tougher, I feel like I've slipped back into doing pretty well and there's just a lot of multi-machine fights and they can gang up on you.

 

I'm a big fan of the exploding weapons so I use the spike thrower and blast slings whenever I can. That, the boltblaster and the Sharpahot Bow are my go-to weapon.

 

Are they really going to act like a 3rd game wasn’t coming down the pipeline?

 

Glad I’m not the only one who felt the DLC was harder, lol.

 

Sat down to play burning shores yesterday. Had to wait for the dlc to download, started up the game, game update started downloading, ran around in-game in the meantime and no popup for the DLC content. Hopefully today I can play.

 

You MUST beat the game first, then you'll be able to talk to somebody to start the DLC. It's not very well presented in game.

They've also been bad at having a marker or something indicating which quests are DLC related vs standard game. (at least I think that's how Frozen Wild was and Burning Shores so far)

 

I beat the OG game a long time ago. I just had to download 30 GB of shit before.

 

Upgrading equipment can be a pain in the ass. Especially when it’s a part of a machine that is like 18% to drop. Think I’m giving up on maxing my legendary Nora warrior armor and trying the Quen armor you get in this one instead

 

I remember this being an issue at launch. Takes way too many mats to level up gear. Surprised they never updated it.

 

Anyone level up any legendary gear all 5 levels?

 

Nope. Takes too long especially when you need an item from an apex machine and then they don’t spawn.

 

The amount of grind in the game kind of turned me off. I finished the story and pretty much left a ton of side content unfinished because of it.

 

There’s an option in accessibility that makes looting from the robots way easier. Don’t have to tear off components to get them.

 

I think I maxed legendary armor because my battle plan normally involved shooting a fuckload of tear arrows right at the start to knock off important parts and then beat the hell out of them.

 

How do I change my flight controls? I hate inverted. I looked through the options multiple times but can’t find it.

 

It’s there in the options because I changed the flight controls too

I need to know which setting this is cause upgrading everyitng is a pain in the ass.

 

Biggest grip I've had so far is the limited number of traps/trip wires you can set at once. Damnit I want to lay a field of traps and it won't let me.

 

I'm up to level 40 now and just got the second subordinate function. I'm not rushing through at all.

 

It's under accessibility I believe but I can't remember exactly what it was called.

Don’t cheat yourself

 

I'm more likely to go do more stuff outside the main storyline if I'm not spending tons of time grinding.

I never play games on the harder difficulties anyways lol.

I'm not really that excited for the next one and wouldn't be upset if Guerilla did something different next. It's an okay series but I don't love it.
