I liked two songs from Crash Talk. Numb Numb Juice and Dangerous, everything else was extremely forgettable. The rest of his discography is good (Setbacks) or great, so I'll give him a pass.
New EARTHGANG tomorrow. They just played at Sweetwater in ATL with Daniel Donato. Would've loved to see both of those acts.
Random and not sure where to put it but... Listening to Jr Gong's verse on Tribal War WHILE reading the lyrics is awesome. Saw the Bob Marley movie this weekend is how it happened.
Heavily enjoy the album. TDE releases sound so crisp, this included. Q's beats and flow switches are always the best.
Wu my all time #1 but Gangstarr has my heart for eternity. Legit can never say an album is better than moment of truth
It’s on top of my list somewhere for sure. I owe more to that album for expanding my rap palette than I do any album in the genre. Up to that point I was very much a Houston/Memphis/Atlanta fan and after that album I was MUCH different. I didn’t appreciate Wu or Nas or Big or Jay or Pun or anyone outside the south nearly as much as I did after MOT. It completely flipped things upside down for me.
This whole "beef" is lame. It's just a couple guys claiming to be to hottest alive and people run around like "zomg I can't believe he said that, that's obviously a diss toward X that thinks he's the best." Newsflash, they all think they are the best. I'm baffled why people ate gassing this up.
It's like the control verse all over again. Not real beef but guys trying to claim their stake as the top in the game. Hip hop has always been the one genre of music that's legitimately competitive. This is competition, that's all. I personally like it and think it makes things interesting. It's not meant to be taken all that seriously. It's just raps.
Yea I don't mind it, just the hype around it is way more than the actual beef itself. I don't think these guys actually dislike each other pr have personal beef, it's just rap shit. I agree woth you, it feels like competition, not beef.
