I think this week's ep leaked last week. Did they take last weekend off? Week 1 : Eps 1&2 Week 2: Ep 3 Labor day : off This weekend Ep 4??
Cameron sucks. Fuck this temperamental bitch. *im only 10 minutes into episode 5. feelings may change.
I think it’s already this way, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see this show’s popularity go up after it’s over via streaming services. It’s one of those critical darlings that has never gotten many viewers.
I'm totally immersed in the show and what's it done, so forgive the constant responses. That said: Spoiler - Both Gordon and Joe's characters are the two that have grown on me the most to turn out to be favorites. They both are/were what they are/were. Deeply flawed individuals that grew over time. - This show is a masterclass in how to develop characters with deep complexities and make the viewer feel and relate to each and every one of them, even the kids. - Donna's evolution has been one of the biggest storylines and it's been fascinating to watch her deal with all those changes. - Anything involving Boz is great. It's been difficult this season b/c we've been watching him get old, which is sad. - The most difficult character to like, and I'd imagine most would say this, is Cameron. But she serves a vital purpose in the world of this show as the story's catalyst. She'll make you go insane, but then there's always a moment that'll pull you in and make you feel bad for her. Anyways, this fucking show is great and underrated. But y'all knew that already.
man, they hit all the right notes. that scene between cameron and donna in the backyard was powerful, considering all that they'd been through together.
Don't think I'll miss it because I really don't think you can conclude a show as well as they did, just brilliant. My sister lives in Armonk, pretty cool they had Joe from there.
i've been playing catch up all year (thanks amc for airing this saturday nights and your app not getting them up asap), but i just finished ep 7 a few minutes ago. holy. shit. i thought his death was coming this season, but not then. but then when "donna" walked in the door...man. i cannot wait to finish the rest, but also really don't want it to end. see you guys tomorrow
what is everyone's guess for donna's idea? i'm thinking paypal - bit of a twist on their mutiny marketplace days
Ha. Well. Looks like Yahoo and Netscape deal was around 1997. Napster was founded in 2001 as was the iPod. Probably something to do with Portable music would be my guess. Archos, Creative and Compaq all had a version of "Portable Jukebox" around '98-00. And that seems comparable to the browser wars would be the PMP wars of Apple, Microsoft, Dell. Everyone had something. Amazon and eBay launched in 1995 so online ordering had been established. Dominos started to allow online food delivery in 1994.
Didnt even care about the innovation in the end at all, just an awesome show in character development. The call between Donna and the older daughter was awesome as was everything with Hailey
I've been on a major kick telling people about this show after I watched the finale. That was a great show! I loved it It didn't hit me until I was reading reviews of the finale just how good a job they did with Hailey this season. She was essentially a brand new character, and I was devastated by the restaurant scene and so happy when we realized she was listening to Gordon's tapes at the end there. What a show
Starting this now. First ep is a little too detailed for me on the tech BS. Was to,d in a different thread how great this was. Looking forward to the journey If I get thru all this
Man, I got excited when I saw the notification for this thread. All of that is to say...KEEP GOING. It continually gets better and better.
As I mentioned in the Americans thread, you can skip a lot of season 1 if you're not feeling it. It's a completely different and much better show starting with ep 7 or 8 of the first season and it just gets better and better from there. I would definitely recommend watching everything, but that's an option if the first few episodes are just not doing it for you.
I’m loosely watching everything. On ep 6 now, but haven’t paid a lot of attention. Ready to get drawn in soon though
Already on 2.6 right now. Joe just told his billionaire boss they should acquire Mutiny. Getting good
So, I finished last night and binged the last two seasons in like 5 days. I wish I wouldve slowed down and enjoyed it more, or been around when it was live to follow the thread and read up with yall. I missed the whole ep after Gordon's death because I really didnt pay attention. I truly loved the show though. I was invested in these characters for like three wks of binge watching and was seriously emotional the last season. I know it had a lot to do with the nostalgia, but it felt like I had spent a decade with these characters and not just 40 eps over 3 wks. I loved the pacing of the show and following the current even timelines. Probably a reason why I like Stranger Things so much too. Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks to those who told me to watch it. I've been around tMB since day one and hate 90% of what it is about these days, but one thing I will always take from it is posters advice on TV shows.
Late to the party on this one. Binged. Much more to write here and later I might. Just wanted to say something short... PHENOMENAL show. Sets the benchmark for character development. Almost painful that it ended at 4 seasons, but it's better this way. 10/10.
I'd watch a TV series consisting of just Joe MacMillan strutting down hallways, pointing at people, and staring out high-rise windows with his hands on his hips.
I've been binging this for the last three days (currently on season 2 ep 9). I previously tried to get into this show back in 2015. But I lost connection for some reason. The character this time around are way more relatable. Bosworth may be one of my favorite TV characters in recent memory. His one liners are gold. Also, I would marry the hell out of Donna.
Update: I'm on S3E8 currently. This has been a hell of a ride. Donna’s mushroom trip was an excellent scene. Also, the punches thrown between Donna & Cameron in E7 were excellent. I nearly expected Cameron to press the nuclear button and say something about the abortion/driving her to the clinic. I have to say that Cameron has annoyed me off and on throughout this series. But she's really kicked it into high gear in the recent episodes of S3. I can't stand her wide-eyed I'm shocked to look. I can't tell if it's the character that annoys me or if it's the actress playing her. But it's very predictable.
This show has been able to handle time jumps very well over the course of three seasons. Spoiler Gotta say, I'm not surprised that Donna & Gordon got divorced. The writing was on the wall back in Dallas tbh. This new girl that Gordon is with is not attractive
Spoiler just sitting here all up in my feels with the back to back episodes about Gordon's passing, basically 60 straight minutes of fighting back tears
Those two episodes are as good or better than anything I’ve ever seen in TV, just wonderfully built and earned. Perfect timing and structure that whole damn season
What I've realized on this rewatch is, despite still genuinely enjoying the first 3 seasons, my view of this series as a whole is definitely exaggerated by how beautifully touching these last few episodes are
