Just did. I’m a sucker for FF games but this one looks pretty sweet. Hoping it doesn’t disappoint like 15.
I really can't wait for this. That would have to rank up there as one of the best openings I have ever played in a game. It also might be the first game I have seen that implements something like the active time lore system. It's like a compendium on steroids, showing any lore info about every character/faction/location/etc in the current scene. You can even pull it up during a cutscene. The GotY potential is definitely there.
Fuck, I'm like 99% sure I won't be able to wait for the PC release. I'm a big fan of Yoshi-P and FF14 so this game been on my radar for a while. After the demo release and everyone and their mother raving about it. I'm going to have to give in and buy the FF16 PS5 bundle lol
Holding off on the demo so I can play 48 hours straight on launch. Glad to hear it’s living up to FF series.
Downloading the demo right now, IV unfortunately with this releasing in 9 days I will be skipping out on Diablo 4 for now. I know I'm about to sink no less than 80 hours into this game.
Yep, made the same call. Honestly will probably just not get Diablo because it will devour my life and is never ending, whereas Zelda and FF both have a pretty clear point where I’m done with it.
Just finished the demo, game looks fun as hell. Some interesting mechanics that I'm curious to see the full functionality of. And holy fuck, what a dark beginning to a story. Grown up Punished Clive looks like an awesome MC.
So the demo doesn’t really spoil or duplicate the main game right? It’s like a prologue of sorts or something
I’m playing FF6 again and am really excited for this game, but I’m not buying a PS 5 for it. Hopefully it comes out on PC before too long.
Yes, its mostly a tutorial with some lore. When the game releases you will be able to pick up right where the demo left off.
Holy shit, just played through the demo. Did not expect that. Spoiler who the hell is the good guy?? also just read there’s actually more to the demo. Eikon Challenge which tells a little more of the story and combat.
The main narrative writer was the same one who was the main writer for the Heavensward expansion of FF14, an amazing story is pretty much a given.
Spoiler I'm pretty sure that adult Punished Clive is who the "good guy" is going to be, our playable character. And the doggo, the doggo is always good.
I don't usually geek out over video game music but I can't wait for you people that haven't played FFXIV to finally experience Soken's music tomorrow.
Completely different teams behind the games, this was made by the literal cream of the crop of Square Enix.
I’m fine with some linear after other open world games. I’m not too far in yet so we’ll see how I feel later. Eikon fights are fucking sweet. Really enjoy how they are just jumping into it with them. One of my biggest complaints from FF15 was how there were like no summons.
New map I just got to definitely more classic FF where you can explore it and not just run straight line to goal.
My favorite thing about the game so far is how brutal the Eikons are. The destruction they bring is just insane
Man the big story fights are unbelievable. Just finished the sequence after you return to Phoenix Gate
Eikon battles have me interested as fuck in this game but I’ve never liked any FF game I’ve played and the lack of diversity in the cast is such a cornball move fuck it I might get it anyway
If you’ve never liked a FF game you probably won’t like it. Eikon battles are a pretty small part of gameplay.
Plays more like DMC than a traditional FF though, if you like action games should be right up your alley. Soken killing it, these big fight songs get me so hype and the cinematic feel of the battles is crazy.
