This is gonna be one of those game like GoW and HZD that I’m going to be legit sad when I beat it and there’s nothing else left. HZD at least had one dlc.
Just got X and X-2 on sale for switch yesterday. About to jump into X. Loving the switch since I got it about a month ago
I bought both of those as part of a bundle a few years ago. I really loved those games. Blitzball is the best.
Got a PS5 and currently making my way thru the remake. Should be just in time for the release of Rebirth in a few weeks
What's Rebirth? I'm playing the Super Mario RPG rerelease on Switch. I appreciate the help but man they made this one easy. You barely have to heal, you'll just level up or get all your life back some other way before it comes to that. And if you ever do get killed, a "pick me up" brings you back with full health. Try doing that with a Phoenix Down.
IGN is saying 80 hours to complete. I really enjoyed the first one especially the combat even though the summons were pretty bland. The original FF7 always was so memorable because it came out right after I graduated college and didn’t have a job.
Wait…if those summons were bland, what do you like? Maybe I am just remembering Knights and Bahamut Zero
I guess the ones from the original were just more impactful given the limitations of the graphics at the time. They will get better as they progress but just wasn’t as impressed so far in regards to the rest of the game. The final Bahamat and Phoenix were great.
Have you played the original? Zack is alive and very much involved in the plot of Rebirth, this is a sequel
Part 1 hinted that the OG FF7 was basically a "bad ending" so Remake/Rebirth is like a reincarnation of the timeline.
The "100 years later" with Red running around with little puppies is considered the bad ending, straight out of Red's mouth at the end of Remake.
This is the only way to do a proper remake imo. Just a 4k HD straight up recreation of the original would have been boring, especially with a narrative driven franchise like Final Fantasy.
Spent 10 hrs total so far and not even through Chapter 2 yet, the open world exploration is right up my alley, gonna easily sink 150+ hrs into this before I finish my first playthrough
i beat remake a while ago but i’m going to play through intergrade soon first to see the yuffie stuff and refresh myself on the plot
I'm addicted to exploration, I'm not moving on from a single story quest unless I 100% the zone first with all side quests done. But hopefully on the replay on Hard Mode I'm not going to need to 100% zones again to get platnium trophy.
I’m enjoying this a lot. Getting the chocobo early on in the story is great with the whimsical music and sound effects. I forgot how fun the fighting gets once you level up a bit.
I just lost 2 hours of side quest/exploration progress bc I chose to load last checkpoint instead of retrying a battle I lost. I turned it off. Maybe I’ll come back in a few days. disregard, closed the game and relaunched. Loaded up right before the fight.
The Odin simulator fight is some cock ass bullshit, had to change my entire build and do Phoenix rez cheese to beat it. No offense Odin
Beat the game today on normal mode at 110 hours. (Might take me another 110 hours to get platinum trophy if I ever go for that, this might be one of the most daunting platinum trophies I've ever attempted)
I’m a completionist and almost always go for the platinum, but I’m not doing it for this one. Too many mini games and idk if I’m good enough to beat every battle.
