Hate to belabor the point but there are plenty of non doctors offices that will give you terzaptide for 2-300 dollars a month.
I'm so sorry. I lost my dad at 56 and all I can say is that there are a lot of us who understand and empathize with what you and your family are going through. Doesn't make it better, but you're not alone.
https://try.getzealthy.com/tirzepat...t0lA2oE-Bkwc86wv2K6x-7DALh2u2ckIaAqToEALw_wcB First result that came up for me. Fill out a questionnaire probably a telecoc appointment or something my wife did it through a “medical aesthetics” office which is basically a medspa with mds and rns and they will give it to you. There are plenty in Florida. in Atlanta I’ve literally seen yard signs with “sermaglutide for 199$” outside our Costco.
I thought those med spa type places are giving compound not the brand name. dblplay1212 said he wanted that real stuff. Also one thing I saw it was 100/month to be a member and that got you access to a prescription and them finding a place with it in stock…then you paid for the meds on top of that.
Tirzepatide with manufacturer discounts is running 550/mo for the commercially “available” product right now (pending availability, some strengths are on backorder). You can dm me if you want, I’m in Jax and may be able to help out.
If DBL has insurance it doesn’t hurt to call and ask what they cover and if there are step requirements. Purely for weight loss Wegovy is prolly easier to get over zepbound
You can even go on your rx insurance app or website and plug it in and get costs for individual stores and mail order.
My insurance has an app that I can search a drug and it will say the estimated cost or it will say it’s not covered etc.
Call them. Hey is Wegovy covered a drug and does it require anPA. Or you can prolly go to their website and look at the preferred drug list. Depending on who your insurance is I could look it up
dbl just post your ssn, credit cards, and insurance info in this thread and we’ll take care of it. We’re a full service mainboard.
Yeah we don’t manage them. Think my wife does PAs for those tho but she only deals with specialty drugs which Wegovy isn’t. But yeah to the website in the back. Create a login if you need to and they should have some info on covered drugs.
So basically try to be less fat for a while and if you try really hard and are still very fat they’ll think about it. Or spend $3,000 out of pocket.
Seems like you need to try to lose weight on your own first and have it documented. The criteria is listed out for you. Or just just go to a MediSpa or the links ppl have posted and get it for $100 a week....which I'm going to guess isn't going to be substantially more than your copay
Is your bmi over 30. If so all you need to do is enroll in a which management program. My insurance has online ones that are free. You can enroll in that tell your doctor you are enrolled in a weight management and request a PA after 6 months.
or you could technically pay cash for 3 months and by pass the 6 months of comprehensive weight management program and be “stable on the medication”. I’m assuming your plan will want proof of both the weight management and using for 3 months. or go here https://www.hydroinfusions.com/medical-weight-loss
Be prepared for it to be yanked if you get on it without a primary diagnosis like diabetes. Someone I know did a year or more on wegovy at like $25/mo (which was annoying as I get 1/3 the dosage of ozempic with a t2d diagnosis for $100/mo on my insurance) and then UHC allegedly just flat out cut it out for 2024 and would not do a PA or anything last I heard.
No clue. I just see every time I went to physical therapy. I mean for what it is kinda hard to fuck up. I’d have to look up but they have MDs in staff and always seem nice when I see them.
Big cost difference Semaglutide - $299 a month Includes: Medicine (no matter the dose), Consultation Monthly follow-up visits. Tirzepatide - $900 3 mo. Starter Package Includes: Medications, supplies, follow ups After initial 3 months, pricing is based on dosage: $250 a month - low $500 a month - moderate $750 a month - high
Generally, will PCP bother prescribing this if I'm a good candidate for a GLP-1 for weight loss purposes? Or am I just going to get some run around of eat less/exercise more?
lol drug companies keep this information incredibly secret. There is a reason they are billion dollar companies, and it’s not because they work on thin margins
drugs aren't priced based on what they cost to make. they are priced based on what the market is willing to bear which is based on a lot of things but most importantly health economic savings to the system overall.
Also have to factor in the research and development to get FDA approved. Especially for non “me too” drugs.
i don't even think that matters as much as pharma tries to say it does. to me that's an argument for lay people that doesn't really have true impact. it's more justification.
I agree. Federal grants pay for a vast majority of research at universities where these drugs are tested and developed. Marketing isn’t cheap though… edit: I was wrong. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/ar... these 41 therapies, NIH,97.4% of all funding).
