I don't know enough about Ecuadorian politics to have a strong opinion, but the vibes are fucky. Here's an excerpt about their president from Wikipedia: "Before his political career, Noboa served in several positions at Noboa Corporation, an exporting business founded by his father Álvaro Noboa, who unsuccessfully ran for president of Ecuador five times. He has been widely described as an heir to his father's company and fortune.[9]" His father's company exports bananas which knowing a little about Latin American history, that's, uhhh, not great.

Bananas good. Banana companies in Latin American politics bad for people (good for corporate profits tho). It's feels fucky cause this guy seems like a continuation of like a century plus of fucking with these countries to benefit the wealthy at the expense of indigenous people and agrarian workers.
this tends to be how Central and South America handle gangs when things get really out of wack. a little extrajudicial purging to balance the scales back to "fucked" from where it was ("really fucked"). see: Los Pepes.
I can't say as though I'm totally against the theory, but these countries all seem to have corrupt cops and militaries as well, so things usually just end up being super fucked up anyway.
