Ok Dune people, with the movie coming soon, I'd love to read the books. I see a 3-book and 6-book collection. Anyone read all six?
I tried reading the first one. The author is just incredible at world building. Genius and creative. but it’s so fucking dorky I couldn’t finish it
I’ve read the first 4 books and a bunch of the prequel stuff I think I flamed out on chapter house I also have a old copy of the dune encyclopedia I stole from my dad Start with Dune obvi Just a fantastic series
I read Dune once and hated it. I think I just didnt get it. Going to read it again before the film comes out
Agree on the first 3. First is great, second is pretty good and the third was good. Made it a few chapters into the 4th and couldn't finish it.
1. Tried to read Dune last year. Hated it, stopped 30% of the way through. 2. got the audiobook this year from the library. Hated it. Powered through and finished it. 5/10. 3. Was at the library with kid, saw Dune Messiah on shelf. Picked it up, read 10 pages and hate it so far. 4. I am idiot
Took me 3-4 times starting it, but eventually I got into it for the most part. Definitely a lot of action and intrigue by the time it concludes. No one loves it like AIOLICOCK though
I read it 5-6 years ago and hated it. Bored to tears. Started it again this weekend. Only ~ 15% in, but it's more interesting for whatever reason
