Lady Grantham and cousin Isobel started their feud at dinner over the hospital. Much of the episode was about Carson and Mrs. Hughes going back and forth about what they will expect in their marriage and at the end they totally commit to each other. Mary getting blackmailed by this new chick was compelling. Lady grantham laying down the law to denker after she told spratt and the abbey people that they were gonna get fired was pretty funny.
I love how Carson is so stuck in tradition even when it's a detriment to himself. He might be the most prudish character in the history of film
agreed, thinking about calling off the wedding if Mrs. Hughes didnt agree with making it a "complete" marriage when he knew it would of hurt like hell was a shock. Has Jim Carter been in anything else? I dont think ive ever seen him before DA
Just watched it tonight. Love that the show is back. Lady Crawley is still the best character on the show. Glad the Mr. Bates/Mr. Green story is resolved.
me as well, although in the previews for next week it heavily mentions another huge problem for Bates/Anna right away
Fuck Bates and Anna...sick of their shit. Team Carson and Mrs. Hughes. Show hasn't been the same since O'Brien left.
It's has gotten old by now, her saying "I disappointed you" the other night was a little much Agreed, Carson and Hughes has become the biggest couple at the moment. O'Brien worked really well with Barrow, they clicked and was thought out
Wasn't as exciting as episode 1, but I believe it's setting up for a great episode 3. Cousin Isabel and Violet is gonna be World War 3, I'm rooting for Violet. Mrs. Drewe taking marigold was kinda predictable, something bad was gonna happen it was just building up to it you could tell. For some reason Mary looked extremely hot in this episode which was nice. Carson putting his foot down to Mrs. Hughes caught me off guard, I know he never wants to disappoint Mary or lord Grantham but still, it is mrs. Hughes's decision (where the reception is). Interested to see where that's heading
Agree that this was the hottest Lady Mary has ever looked. Carson needs to stop acting like an ass. I can see a Mrs. Hughes and Lady Mary confrontation leading to her and Carson actually leaving the house allowing Barrow to become Head Butler at the show end. That is my "out there" prediction for the season.
Could be right. In one of the trailers for the season it says barrow is the butler. I seemed to think they were on their honeymoon so that's why, but your scenario could be true as well
Loved it. I laughed when Mary accused her mom of being the one who is a snob. I'm curious if anything happens between Tom and Mary.
Yes strange timing but it's almost over so when you look at it that way.... Idk if their is time left for tom and Mary but I can't beleive they are just gonna leave Mary alone forever so that's a good idea by you.
Last year I thought they got real chummy and she really didn't want him to leave. She's now the agent and I assume he will be looking for his old job back. I could see it where they are the next to run Downton and keep it profitable.
Definitely cuntish qualities. Barrow being put in his place by Lord Grantham was hilarious. Main part is still Violet vs. Isabel. Seems like granny's being outnumbered but I get the feeling she gets what she wants in the end
Was hoping Daisy would get fired. She has been annoying for years. Kind of tired of the hospital drama. Find it odd Mary would fancy a racing car guy seeing as her husband died in a car crash.
You know what? I didn't even think of that about mary. Maybe that's why she is so against cars (even though she seems interested in him)
Episode 4. Anna tells Bates she is pregnant, Carson's come back from honeymoon and Daisy is told Mr. Mason can get the house.
Wow what an episode. Probably the biggest of the season so far. I knew something was going to happen to Robert with his side hurting but nothing like that. Sprat vs danka was amusing, but Daisy keeps being such a cunt. Why does she care if Ms. Patma likes Mr. Mason?
Just knew something was going to happen to him. Wonder if his emergency changes Lady Grantham's mind about better care close by. If Daisy were to never be in the show again I couldn't care less. Still think something might happen between Tom and Mary.
Pretty meh episode. Carson is starting to annoy the shit out of me the way Daisy already does. I hope Mrs. Pattmore throws her in the oven. Glad hospital is resolved.
What is this like 5 to 6 times now that Carson has said the same thing. "Maybe you should ask Mrs. Pattmore about this". What is the point? Unless she is going to get so upset she wants a divorce which i would be utterly confused by. Daisy has been annoying all season, extremely naive. I wonder what granny is going to plan now that she got screwed over. You know it isnt done by any means in her eyes. Mary finally has her "one she will be with"
What episode are you guys on? What happened last ep? Trying to follow along with you guys but dont want to give anythign away
Last episode was the one after Robert coughed up blood at dinner. They were showing the house to the public, Cora was named President of the Hospital board and Robert was back but recuperating.
Also they show barrow and Andy probably doing gay stuff late at night in barrow's room and Carson catches Andy walking out of Barrow's room Mary is falling for the race car driver, Edith and her new guy are full on. Granny is pissed at Cora and says they wont even speak
Everyone knows Barrow is gay including Andy. It's why he was so stand offish for a while. Barrow had to tread lightly in helping him read. Barrow seems depressed because he has changed the last few seasons/years but no one likes him because of what an asshole he was prior to that.
And he's homosexual in the 1920s. And his profession is on its way to extinction. I'm telling you, I think his suicide is imminent.
Hopefully Daisy is in the line of fire as well. I would love nothing more for her to walk into Mr. Mason's house and see him making sweet missionary love to Mrs. Pattmore just to piss her off.
Mrs. Hughes and Miss Patmore's plan to get Carson to cook dinner is hilarious. Maybe my favorite Mrs. Hughes moment in the whole show Daisy is such a little brat, can not be said enough. Definitely leaning towards Barrow committing suicide. Can't wait for Granny to get back, probably the last scene
Love Mrs. Pattmore. Might be nicest perso on the show. Glad Carson realized cooking isn't easy. Thought it was Henry who died setting up her running into Tom's arms(still holding onto to dear life with that prediction).
The way they keep saying they are brother and sister and introducing themselves like that as well I doubt they will end up together. I thought Henry was dead too, could tell something bad was about to happen
I'm feeling pretty strong about that prediction. My wife thinks he's going to become England's first manny.
