So say said jungler has a base of 350 now and I'm a champ with a base of 325. If i get boots I now have the same ms as him. Now before the patch the patch he had 325 and with boots I had 350. Boots in this genre of game were designed to give you a large movement speed advantage over people that didn't buy them. That is why they cost I a majority of your starting gold. You are sacrificing damage, health, and regen in order to have that mobility that helps you escape and chase. 350 ms doesn't give you that advantage over people that a good enough advantage over people that have 330 335 and then you will have people that are faster than you even when you have boots. They took away an aspect of the game to make it even more noob friendly.

Supposedly lightning is becoming a more popular pic over edict due to edict having a cast time. I can land lesh's stuns all the time but I am useless with Lina's.
the cast time on edict is definitely noticeable, but I don't think it's enough to stop someone from taking it. I think someone finally realized lightning is really good for farming with Leshrac, and he needs some farm.
I would always start with one level of stun then max the physical damage skill then lightning. Also wouldn't get his ult till lvl 10.
I would pick a hero like Lich or Venomancer. Some kind of support so that your team isn't depending on you to carry and you're clueless. They're also not so fragile that you will constantly die, if played decently. I see both of your points regarding the movement speed. If everyone has their speed increased by 25, then what is the difference? However it does make the map "smaller" and, I would guess, maybe make ganks more difficult. That is what makes crystal maiden challenging is how frail she is and how fucking slow she moves, even with boots. I guess I meant maxing lightning over edict first. You still get both but would favor edict. I like edict because it can own in 1v1 and makes towers die in 1-2 waves.
Lich is probably the easiest hero in the game, completely independent from farm, really straight forward, and can make laning hell for the other team. Once you press R in a team fight you have your entire team's permission to die.
Not to mention his ability to deny creeps makes a big difference in the other team's farm/exp and keeps the lane close to your tower. Also helps you be spammy with your spells which could be useful coming over from LoL.

everyone is viable in pubs. But even then ursa is a bad pick. He's totally outclassed by almost everyone right now.
also, a warning for anyone coming over from LoL Saying Champion or champ will instantly make your entire team hate you and be out for blood the moment you make a mistake. Same with making any references toward league.

No I had it installed before the thread and I just got on to troll people all the time. I was lvl 5 when I joined the thread.
I forgot to adress this is in the OP, ill probably add a section later. But once you start a game, you can't leave. If you leave, you'll get an abandon. Get a certain amount of abandons and you'll get thrown into the low priority matchmaking queue for a certain amount of time. Low Priority is fucking BR hell. You don't want to be there. I'm about to finish a six day low prio bid and can't wait to be free.
Still think it is the best. They just fucked themselves with not making it a ftp game when LoL was out for a full year. They probably average having 30,000-40,000 people on at any point in the day while LoL is probably 10 times that.
But LoL blows. DotA 2 I guess is for bluebloods or purists. After the Koreans took over RM in WCIII, I played DotA before and after WoW raids. i was thankful as it was the sole reason why I played the game anymore. Putting this game on the Steam platform is another bonus for me.
Dota fulfills the leveling/gearing up aspect of WoW I craved without the tremendous time sink to acquire said gear and levels.
2-0 yesterday evening. I have realized I am much worse with Windrunner when I have to lane with someone. Would prefer suicide laning her.
Doing a 1v2 or 1v3 lane in the hard lane (radiant top lane, dire bot lane). So you spend the entire time at extreme gank risk and usually will get little to no farm. Windrunner, Dark Seer and Bounty Hunter are currently the top suicide laners in the game.
