Took Truman to the beach yesterday. Went with Moose the Golden Retreiver who is like Trumans big bro and a super cool dog: And here is a little bit of a photo dump from the past few weeks: Spoiler Truman playing with a Mountain Cur Puppy Truman with another mutt, who is his twin, in size and markings, just different color:
Felt really shitty about leaving Champ outside all day, dealing with the record high heat... brought him in for a little bit this evening til it cools down some... He's absolutely NEVER wanted to come inside... I had to pick him up and carry him in, then set him down on the floor in the kitchen. He sat there for probably 10 minutes and didn't move a muscle. I finally picked him up and brought him to the living room to watch some tv w/me and he noticed the little Georgia Bulldog figurine we have next to the fireplace. We were gifted that and a bigger version for out front and I just put the little one where the late Bingo's bed used to be. Kind of ironic that the figurine got him so worried... like he knew that this was another dog's place.
hottest day ever in Nashville history.....was 109 at the airport it was 100 at the airport a little after 8 definitely getting to the creek before 10 AM
When I leave at night, Bear will sit in the floor and watch the ballgame until it ends. When it ends, he comes to the window and will wait for hours and hours until I get home. This is what I arrive home to:
bullitt actually seems to handle the heat just fine. last summer was hotter and he handled it perfectly
He still doesn't realize he doesn't fit under my desk anymore, but hangs out there anyway when I'm on the computer. Here the flash got the best of him. Here's another one with some kind of auto effect my phone can do. I can't decide if it works or not.
My dog does the same shit, but when I stand up to leave the computer, he freaks out and usually bumps his head
Kratos finally got outside after a week confined in the cage because he broke all the nails on his hind leg in the pool. Dude definately was looking for action lol Spoiler
This girl I know down here has a little 13 pound yappie dog. Her roommates were watching the dog and they apparently didn't do a good job, because the dog ate some Advil, Penicillin, and some chocolate. They don't even know how much the dog ate. My friend is 3 hours away and driving back to Cincy now. I am debating calling a vet and bringing her in, but I don't know if it's something that can be THAT serious. Does anyone have any idea?
They are calling poison control. The phone call alone is costing $100. This whole process is going to cost her $1000+. The funny thing is that I offered to watch the dog for her last night, but instead she paid her roommates to watch her (said she didn't wanna "put that burden" on me).
...And that is why you spend 35 bucks a month on pet health insurance, as ridiculous as it sounds....
Update: The call to poison control would have been $150 if the clinic made the call, but since we made the call ourselves, it was $40. Weird.
total med expenditure on my dog in 14 months of ownership lost a ton of hair - vet visit and meds. $135 yearly vaccinations- $85 i think.
"administrative fees" I was applying to live in a rented house and mgmt company wanted $50 for application fee. I asked what that entailed and she said a background check. I googled and an official background check in Texas is $8.
So they really have no way of telling if any ibuprofen was consumed. The dog definitely chewed the lid off, but my friend had no idea how many pills were in there when she left. The vet said the vitals were all pretty normal, but her eyes looked a little puffy. They are doing 24 hour monitoring and some shit with charcoal, and it is going to cost about $850. The 48 hour monitoring was going to cost $1100.
I lost my wallet for the past day and a half. I tore my place apart looking for it. I was furious with myself because I never lose shit, because I always put it in the same place because I have a slight breakdown when this does happen. I finally found in Truman's crate. Wanna kill that little fucker for stealing it!
fuck that. writing a strongly worded letter to obama now. consider this problem solved within 3 months.
Girl I know just got a German Shepard puppy a month ago for her kids. Kids lost interest and the girl is a stupid cunt so the poor dog gets shoved in a crate all day/night. I fucking hate people who do that shit.
I put my puppy in a crate for the first two nights, and then I just couldn't do it anymore. I have accepted the fact that he is going to piss and shit a little bit in the apartment (though most of it is on the pee pads), but I just feel better knowing that he at least has some space to play in.
Oh I understand you have to to it for crate training. This bitch just flat out ignores and has lost interest in her dog now.
I'm going to the 24 hour vet place in about 15 minutes. If the dog is dead, I am going to have to drive to her apartment and be the one to tell her
Sucks man. I like my dog(well my mom and dad's dog) more than I like most people. WOAT feeling to have to tell someone their dog has died. Had to tell my little brother when our Australian Shep got hit by a car and was killed. He bawled like a baby.
