Season 2 was fun. Having boss mats stuck behind the helltide was really annoying but now that the event will be constantly ongoing they fixed that issue. I like the direction they're going. Season 4 with the itemization fix will be huge.
I uninstalled after S1 knowing the incremental changes would be fine. Will reinstall in S4 if itemization looks good.
This is what I'm thinking, because BG3 doesn't do it for me, unfortunately. Great game, I just loathe turn based combat, and that was too big of a part of the game for me to ignore. I hate trying to explore, but every time I turn a corner, loading into a new battle screen and needing ~10 minutes to kill a random enemy. Diablo 4 had it's problems, but I liked the gameplay -- as grindy as it was -- a lot more than BG3.
I haven’t tried BG3 or FF16 yet. Need to dust this back off though cause it sounds like some promising improvements. Is Necro still OP? My kid will only play as Necro because that’s what his longtime DnD character is.
The dev twitch chat is happening today. That ball lightning build was OP as hell. So much fun to play
I refused to play it on principle. Did Frost Sorc all the way to 100. Ice shards until I hit a wall at like level 75 nightmare dungeons, then swapped to blizzard. Never got Uber Lilith down, but got everything else wrapped up with it.
I'm going to skip season 3 most likely and gonna wait until they show the itemization rework in season 4. nothing they've shown in season 3 interests me much. Game has been much better since launch but it still doesn't feel like an ARPG yet. It feels more like a hack and slash game with a diablo skin ala Dynasty Warriors.
I joined my buddies like 3 weeks ago, and got carried up to like 52. Got a bunch of artifacts, but nothing could be used to level 60. I gave up bc it was so close to seasons end.
yeah getting into the 40's and can already feel boredom might go play d3 again people liking season 30 there
Idk why people said the season reveal looked good, the thing is literally just a minion and with how shitty minions have been in D4 so far how did anyone think the theme would be anything but a flop? And this is on top of the itemization still being what it is, I'm keep D4 on the shelf until the itemization rework shows me something interesting.
Interesting thing I learned is that separate teams are working every other season. E.g. Season 1 and 3 are from the same team. Season 2 from a completely different team. I'm sure there's a ton of broader oversight, but....
That's normal for games like MMOs that handle patches, 2-3 different teams working on content patches. Its not like you can expect one "seasonal content team" to launch season 1, then work on season 2 during season 1, then work on season 3 during season 2.
having more fun the aspect that lets charge spawn like 4 ghost charges is great, get quick cooldowns and can use it to stack up mobs
Greatly enjoying my arc lash sorc this season. Game gets a little better every season, would highly recommend all of you come back in a year. You'll have a blast
If you like mindless fun mass killing - Helldivers 2 has been real good so far. Only on PS5 and PC right now unfortunately. Also BG3 hits its stride towards the end of Act 1 when you're ~level 6-7. If you didn't make it that far, give it another shot in a down time for games later on. I hated turn based combat but it grew on me and when it got to that point in the game it went from okay to addictive as hell
My dude is only like level 30 but sorcerer feels a lot weaker than necro. My crit is still pretty low though
Was bored while waiting for FF7 Rebirth and decided to give this season a shot after the supposed improvements. This dropped today
The vaults are way better for leveling and loot in general than NM dungeons but the end game is still nonexistent and itemization needs an overhaul. Duriel dies in literally 5 secs when doing group runs and Lilith is still probably the worst boss fight ever designed in any game I've played in the action genre. There's pretty much...nothing to do once you hit level 100 other than grinding Duriel runs to do the uber unique lottery.
Campfire chat tomorrow at 11AM PDT to talk about PTR/itemization change. Probably a make or break point for Diablo 4 until the expansion.
D4 is being added to gamepass on the 28th so that should give it a boost I hope they do something though. I haven’t played since S1
I'm on board with all those changes. Every time I think I'm done with them until the expansion, they keep pulling me back in.
Looks like a huge step in the right direction. I hope they drop the amount of summoning martials required for the boss ladder.
Yeah I usually have about a week I’ll play with my buddies, then stop. They power level, and I just get carried.
the item changes are good and the crafting system is desperately needed but they still need to make the end game better. Right now it looks like they just added another Uber Duriel in Anduriel.
I simply don't understand why it's so hard to just lift the rift system, completely unchanged, from D3. Fix the end game problem overnight
Season 3 Vaults felt similar to rifts, I really really hope they keep Vaults in the game moving forward. I cannot go back to running NM Dungeons after speedrunning through vaults to level.
