Mockumentary about the history of civilization presented by an idiot. Five half-hour eps, very funny.
I’m so happy that Philomena Cunk has blown up in the last few months. I could go on and on about great the character is but one particular thing that impresses me is how amazing the academics and experts performances are. They know going into it that it’s a bit but their reactions are the same as the suckers that get tricked into talking to a Sacha Baron Cohen character.
Agreed. The constant and subtle-ish malapropisms in the narration are also gold. I did enough juggsian research to discover the previous Cunk on Britian series available on YT and have it lined up for future viewing.
There is also Cunk on Shakespeare, Cunk on Christmas, Cunk's Moments of Wonder and a lot of clips from where the character began, Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe. And if you are at all familiar with presentation of BBC's historical documentaries, it's even funnier with how they poke fun of the how similar those documentaries style of presentation are. .
