Wednesday morning .. being billed as bigger than the finals itself .. in all probability, the winner will face Sri Lanka in the finals (even though it was just England, it was a pretty comprehensive victory)
Pretty much the dream final for the tourney iyam. Im gonna back Sri Lanka to win it all, more balanced and I would be massively worries if I was India by their inability to convert platforms into actual scores (teaminningswise, not individually). I think Murali will have a great game as his last hurrah and Im not sure if India can break through the Tharanga/Dilshan partnership quickly, which you have to to keep the Sri Lankans below 300
India started well. Sri Lanka was 60-2 but turned it into a 120-2 before a huge catch for India. 122-3 through 27.5 overs.
I'd say its another chance for Tendulkar to build his legacy as arguably the best player since sobers. (although my vote goes to lara)
Nobody would have been bigger crappers than England if they had let this one out of their hands. No Khan bowling for India, no Gambhir + Tendulkar initially for the 2nd innings and bowling with 3 bowlers meant India was never going to win this one. The next game will be interesting
it wasnt, india just was not ready for this series. Still think that on a neutral ground, with equal rest and fitness india will give england a good fight but the Indian batsmen are struggling on these pitches with some bounce. Also the indian bowling attack is not special at all
it's just a bunch of lazy bastards who are not giving it all .. there was no preparation for this tour .. the attitudes were lax and then some questionable decisions like bringing Khan out to the tour only for him to go back due to fitness issues and harbhajan bombing like Waterworld .. I think it was high time somebody kicked them in the bollocks ... It'll be an interesting tour to Australia I hope at the end of the year...
agreed, truely appaling effor by everyone in the indian team outside of dravid (who was incredible) and kumar (who was average but he is just not a test-level bowler)
Kumar is that 3rd bowler you have .. who controls the tempo of the bowling and holds up one end for the other bowler to strike through. His swing is pretty good and he disguises the balls well enough. Now it's a diff thing that he has no pace but one can do a lot when the ball's swinging.
He'd be acceptable as a 3rd/4th bowler but with both spinners being awful and ishant and shreesanth suddenly bowling military medium instead of at least a somewhat lively pace. Zaheer Kahn is a good bowler but India really needs some quickies and I think the BCCI should look into getting pitches somewhat more quicky friendly domnestically.
we can now after this winter truely say that england blows at playing spin, just terrible, saeed ajmal aint bad but cmon
well against indian spin it isnt as much of an issue. maybe this has more to do with ohja and ashwin being really really mediocre
