JK Simmons 100% RT Not sure I fully understand what's going on with the plot summary but I'm in Howard Silk (J.K. Simmons) is a lowly cog in the bureaucratic machinery of a Berlin-based United Nations spy agency. When Howard discovers that his organization safeguards the secret of a crossing into a parallel dimension, he is thrust into a shadow world of intrigue, danger, and double cross... where the only man he can trust is his near-identical counterpart from this parallel world. The show explores themes of identity, fate and lost love, posing the eternal question, "what if our lives could have been different"?
I've liked every episode. It's more of a slow burn than an outright thriller, which is frankly a better formula. I find shows like Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad, while great, had to reach such heights every week that they became repetitive. I especially like the flashbacks. I hope they do a lot more of those. I really hope this show has a long run.
Re watching season 1 because wife and I were having trouble remembering all the stuff that happened last season. Still great the second time around.
Just started. Love it. I’m four eps in - what I don’t understand is if this all “occurred” in 1987, then why does the Baldwin character have the same memory of the event with her dad at age 10 or whatever? She’s at most 30.
GODDAMMIT Even if they stumble occasionally, this is one of the few truly interesting shows out there right now
Fuck off with that news. This stupid fucking country really can't enjoy shows where you have to think. Rubicon on AMC comes to mind, lasted 1 season while walking dead is on like season 10
Brutal way to end the show. Just somehow reboot it in the US so they can move filming here. Should save some money.
I think season two as a whole was really well done. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Did not see that twist coming entirely, so was a bit bummed. Was really hoping primary world Howard would go back to secondary world and be with Emily. I found the relationships and the events that pushed things in different directions in each world fascinating in general. The character development was clever and rich enough for almost every important player.
I don't think the show needed another season. Ended at the perfect place and told a great story, IMO.
So this is on prime and after having been aware of it for some time I finally stormed through it. I have to say I struggled with the early episodes - I had real trouble appreciating the motivations of most of the characters of significance - but I'm glad I stuck with it because things did become more clear and the progression was very rewarding. This is an emphatic thread bump. Watching it, and particularly that ominous final scene, in our actual pandemic era was also a bit of a mindfuck.
