Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Probably as real as your interest in Kakuta. We were linked to 50 players in the summer and only placed bids for Neymar, Luiz, and the players we signed.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat The player I think is the biggest must kop is Lukaku.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Scott Sinclair hat trick for Swansea in the Carling Cup.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat I always liked him, thought he would end up being sick for Chelsea.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat van Aanholt, Bruma, Sturridge, Kakuta, and McEachran all starting. Hopefully Newcastle uses their B team as well.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Chelsea v Newcastle Carlo Ancelotti is ready to utilise the depth in his Chelsea squad after they went four points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 4-0 drubbing of Blackpool at Stamford Bridge. The Italian will use the Carling Cup to blood his youngsters before welcoming back England men John Terry and Frank Lampard against Manchester City at the weekend. But Chelsea are entering a period where they play two games per week and Ancelotti is ready to use all his resources. Veteran defender Sol Campbell is expected to make his Newcastle debut. The 36-year-old is likely to be included as manager Chris Hughton uses the depth of his squad at Stamford Bridge. Tim Krul will start in goal with Steve Harper facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a shoulder ligament injury, and Swedish youngster Ole Soderberg will provide the back-up. Leon Best (ankle) returns to the squad, while Danny Simpson (also ankle) and Danny Guthrie (knee) are back in training. Steven Taylor (shoulder) is expected to resume training in three weeks, but Dan Gosling (knee) is still some way away.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Wow, Chalobah, who is 15 years old, is on the bench tonight. Chelsea team for Newcastle: Turnbull, Ferreira, Bruma, Terry, Zhirkov, Benayoun, Van Aanholt, Ramires, Kakuta, Anelka, Sturridge. Chelsea subs for Newcastle: Cech, Kalou, Alex, McEachran, B Clifford, Mellis, Chalobah.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Nathaniel Chalobah Chelsea career A centre-back or occasional holding midfielder, Nathaniel has made rapid progress through the Chelsea age groups and regularly represents age groups well above those born in the same year. Tall and robust but not exceptionally dominant on a physical level, he reads the game very well and remains calm and composed in possession. He has the makings of an impressive central defender, one who likes to use the football in coming out from the back. The 2009/10 season saw Nathaniel make his Under-18 debut shortly after his 15th birthday. He began to establish himself in the team some eighteen months ahead of schedule, and made a Reserve team appearance in a friendly in March 2010. His first goal came against Leicester City in April and he followed it up with another late in the season against Ipswich Town. International Nathaniel has represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 levels. At Under-17, he is a full year younger than any of his teammates but remains a key part of coach John Peacock's plans, being the starting centre-back for the 2010 European Under-17 Championships in Liechtenstein (despite being the youngest player in the competition), which England won. He also remains eligible for Sierra Leone.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat looks like the young players won't get much PT this year lol Kalou gets injured right after he comes on
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Kalou looks pretty hurt. Going full speed dribbling into the box then just stopped and went down. Probably a pulled hamstring.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Josh McEachran looks like he has an amazing future. Been the best player for us since he came on
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat didn't see the game but didn't sound very good for the youth movement from the ESPN gametracker.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Bruma-absolute shit McEachran- PvA-had a goal and an assist, looked pretty good but fell asleep on defense and allowed a goal Kakuta-wasn't really involved and subbed at half which was dumb, made one nice pass and one bad one Turnbull looked like shit like usual, Ramires was a ghost
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat I would take vA back in an instant if we had the chance. Kid balled out for us last year
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat I imagine a lot is going to be said about Josh McEachran's performance in the coming days. Unlike Kakuta, who is a very talented player, McEachran had a composure on the ball that is far, far beyond his tender age of 17. Frankly, he bossed the midfield against a team that had a man advantage. Now, MAKE HIM EAT!
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Wait did someone get red carded? I see on the match report that Alex was on the bench and they have no record of the substitution but I definitely saw him out there.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat The plan was for Terry to play only 45 min, so he was Alex replaced him to start the second half. Also, Kakuta picked up an injury in the first half, which forced Carlo to bring on Kalou. Then, the problems started... Kalou played all of eleven minutes before hurting his thigh. He was subbed for McEachran. To make matters worse, Yossi picked up an injury that prevented him from finishing the match, requiring Chelsea to play the final half hour down to 10 men.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Probably 2-4 weeks. He just returned to game action yesterday by playing 60 minutes in a reserves game.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Starting lineup for tomorrow: Petr Cech Ivanovic Alex JT Ashley Essien Mikel Ramires Anelka Drogba Malouda
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat TEAM NEWS Roberto Mancini will speak with Joleon Lescott and Jerome Boateng before deciding whether to risk either man. Mancini has only three fully-fit defenders available, with Micah Richards ruled out by a hamstring injury. With Pablo Zabaleta earmarked for the right-back role, Mancini only has youngster Dedryck Boyata, plus midfielders Gareth Barry and James Milner available to fill the role if neither Lescott nor Boateng are deemed to be fit enough. Lescott has been troubled by a groin injury that has kept him out of City's last three games, while Boateng has not featured at all since his summer move from Hamburg after aggravating a knee injury when he was accidentally struck by an in-flight meal trolley. Chelsea will be without midfielder Frank Lampard, who is understood to need more time to recover from his recent hernia surgery and so will miss the trip to Eastlands along with striker Salomon Kalou and midfielders Yossi Benayoun and Gael Kakuta. Kakuta (back), Kalou (thigh) and Benayoun (calf) were all injured during Chelsea's 4-3 Carling Cup exit at the hands of Newcastle on Wednesday night. MATCH STATS Man City have only won four of their last nine Premier League home matches. City had only won two out of 24 Premier League meetings with Chelsea before they took all three points home and away against the Blues last season. Chelsea have won at Manchester City’s ground more often than any other team in the Premier League era (10 times). Carlos Tevez has scored five goals in his last four Premier League appearances against Chelsea. Chelsea have fired in more shots on target (43) than any other team in the top flight. Chelsea have scored with 27% of their shots, a league high in terms of conversion rate. Didier Drogba has recorded a league-high five assists. Florent Malouda has scored six goals in four Premier League starts this season. Salomon Kalou has scored eight goals in his last eight Premier League appearances, despite completing only one 90 minute appearance and starting just five of those matches. ODDS Man City 9/4, Draw 21/10, Chelsea 11/10
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Chelsea face Marseille in their Champions League Group F match without suspended striker Didier Drogba and the injured trio Frank Lampard, Salomon Kalou and Yossi Benayoun. Manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Drogba's enforced absence means that Florent Malouda and Nicolas Anelka would definitely start up front, with either Daniel sturridge or Gael Kakuta also set to feature against the French champions. Anelka, who will take on a French side for the first time since he was sent home from the World Cup following his criticisms of then-France coach Raymond Domenech in South Africa. Marseille defender Leyti N'Diaye is back in the squad after recovering from a shoulder injury, meaning manager Didier Deschamps has a fully fit group of players at his disposal.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Cech Cole Alex JT Ivanovic Zhirkov Mikel Essien Malouda Anelka Kakuta
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Chelsea and France prodigy Gael Kakuta could soon become a Bayern Munich player, if a report from RMC is to be believed. The 19-year-old's future remains very much undecided. Kakuta's contract with Chelsea expires in January 2011, meaning that unless he signs a contract extension, Bayern could swoop to sign him for free when the transfer window reopens. Two weeks ago, it was reported that the youngster was close to signing a five-year deal with Chelsea, although no news on the matter has surfaced since then. Capable of playing in left midfield and attack, Kakuta has only made two appearances since joining Chelsea in 2009. He has rapidly developed in recent months, however, and was named the Golden Player at the recent U-19 European Championships.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Chelsea is all about the black athlete. Particularly French
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Arrec Bardwin and his piece of crap club going down in a week. Reel eyes.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat We've been a pretty sheisty side recently. Need to figure out what the fuck is wrong with us.
Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat I always thought Lampard was a little overrated since people would always talk about his 20 goal seasons when half were probably from PKs. But his injury has shown just how important he is, completely different team without him. The midfield has absolutely no creativity, and no forward can create anything but Drogba. How the fuck Anelka continues to start is beyond me. He can't pass, he is always invisible vs a decent team, is extremely lazy tracking back, slows down every counter attack when he gets the ball, does his stupid fake shot 15 times a game and thinks the defense will still fall for it, etc. I don't think I've ever hated an athlete more. Sturridge was so impressive in the CL I figured he had to get a start today. But Carlo is way too stubborn. Ramires and Anelka shouldn't be starting every game. Ramires finally had a good game today though even though he still had a few of his terrible turnovers. Essien being an idiot at the end of the Fullham game definitely didn't help this recent stretch. Still should have won today. Kalou missing another wide open net, Alex with a terrible play. Team just can't get its shit together. Fortunately the CL knockout rounds aren't close or we'd be fucked. Re: *Official Chelsea Thread*--Get ready for the repeat Nice rebound after that fucking awful display against arsenal
