I was a man of my word. But I felt like a dipshit after 2 posts so I bailed. I don't have it it me to be that guy.
That was some vintage Golding shit there going full prevent and letting them match down the field like that
We are far from perfect but those two top 10 teams I just watched play don’t look any better than us.
I don't think we're NC caliber but I can see us sneaking into the playoff with a decent showing vs UGA
The first drive was a very well called series. It was a perfect example of how we should utilize Milroe. We never replicated it the rest of the game though
I know we won and I'm pumped about that, we're gutsier than I thought. But... Saban missing that ghost 3rd down and not kicking the XP to go up 9 makes me feel pretty uneasy.
We were up 8. Kicking XP makes it 9, going for 2 makes it 10, so a TD and FG only ties you. If they score a TD and get the 2 to tie, you live with it. It was the right call imo. ohhaithur can probably add some statistics for us.
Not sure when it happened but the less time remaining the worse the decision is. Making it two possessions is generally more valuable there
Thought we helped Milroe as much as we could. Redzone play calling left a lot to be desired. 1st and Goal at the 6 and we run a jet sweep to the short side of an already condensed field. 1st and Goal at the 1 with a center who has struggled all year, let’s go shotgun. Only getting 3 points out of those situations is inexcusable.
We do have to be more creative in the red zone, but I think it's pretty hard to be really good in the red zone when you don't trust your QB to make quick reads on short/intermediate throws in a condensed field. You have to call plays to hope to catch the opponent in the wrong thing or just run the ball and beat them physically.
I lost my shit when we lined up in shotgun on the 1. If Milroe is the best QB we have at least let’s grind out a 1 yard with him. No need to get cute.
The changes to protections in terms of the way we ran counter play actions and gave help on the outside was a huge plus. Thought Rees did a pretty good job with all that. We had very few if any sacks where Milroe just got overwhelmed. Most of them were plays where he should have turned upfield and gotten 3-5 yards and instead just kept drifting around or just flat out ran out of the pocket too early.
yall should have heard the complete 180 TrustyPatches made in discord last night after milroe took the hit during the hale td and simpson followed it up with a tough 2pt conversion.
I wonder if Gump wanted to spank Bryce’s ass after that awful interception from the 3 yard line in the A&M loss two years ago. Or if he wanted to rub Bryce’s nose in it to teach him a lesson that he can never throw an interception again. Really makes you wonder his parenting style.
Dead on. 60 percent of the pass plays you would normally use in the red zone, Milroe can’t handle. So that really handcuffs what you can do.
I was fine with lining up under center at the goal line. This isn’t 1993 you should be able to get a fucking shotgun snap and I thought we were setting up a QB power giving Milroe a running start. Seth needs a sports therapist to work him through these yips.
With how we’ve snapped vs how we’ve sneaked you shouldn’t have been fine with it. The outcome was completely predictable.
The risk? We were on their 1 yard line, not ours. Just don’t see how you can blame the coaching there. We may as well sneak it every play if our dipshit center can’t get a snap off.
I’m rewatching now. The first drive was very good before the sack on third down. We ran one QB outside zone with Roydell lead blocking on the edge and he made an excellent block in space. We had such a better offensive gameplan.
It was a legitimate possibility to the point I was yelling at them from my seats before we ever snapped.
Need to amend that gif to be Burton, Bond, Hale, and Benton or maybe Niblack. Add in Dippre and those are our top 6 pass catchers imo. If we're just talking receivers I'd go with Burton, Bond, Hale, and Benton not just by production numbers but just overall what I think they've shown.
Anytime Milroe throws 10-15 yards down the middle after waiting for a guy to come open I immediately assume he's about to throw a soul crushing interception. That one was a perfect example. Big Utz snatched it out of the air, though.
Dipree and Niblack both had some pretty ridiculous catches in the drive right before halftime. The tight ends mostly can’t block for shit but they are pretty good receiving options
Bond had 3 guys beat on that deep go but milroe didn’t put enough air under it. Feel like that will hit soon.
