Oh I meant to criticize them to a degree. But it sounded harsher upon re-read than I intended. I also think I kind of subliminally meant it as a warning for recruiting. Top guys won’t keep coming here if shit doesn’t get turned around. Nobody wants to join a team of losers just to have to transfer themselves. Bit of a vicious cycle to get caught in. Hope to avoid it.
i'll say this much: the defense is exponentially better this year than under pete. the line is still a bit under recruited but it is what it is, we're starting 8th year players so experience should make that fine. only giving up 34 to sark despite constantly defending short fields is solid. i'm pretty confident this defense is good enough to win a title. special teams are weird. burnip is much better than last year. i hate that our return guys are also our starting corners. absolute madness. offense is a disaster. the line is bad. qb play is bad. wrs i have no clue about because the qb and line are so bad. rb situation could be better but could be worse. roydell ran well against that "stout" usf defense. jace ran well too but he's also one of the worst blockers i've ever seen play rb under saban. jam hasn't done shit. haynes has looked exciting on limited carries. so for me rb order should be roy, haynes, walk ons, miller, jace. trash team. 8-4 at best. is it november yet?
Obvious answer. Maybe Simpson could be better in a year or so, but he sure didn't show it against a terrible team Saturday. We're going to have a lot of really, really bad turnovers this year, and we're just going to have to accept that.
Was Milroe being disciplined Saturday? Maybe even suspended? I heard it mentioned but never heard if true. Him not getting a single snap last game & then now starting? That’s odd imo
Was told by a reliable source this morning that MIlroe was suspended for USF. He pitched a fit when he was told they were going to rotate other QBS in early against USF and his parents were also involved.
You deserve to be suspended if you do that though. There has to be some level of accountability and discipline. Otherwise what are we even doing here.
Saban was also noted as saying we're absolutely fucked if any of the other no talent ass clowns started in SEC play.
Yep. If that’s true, I’d be fine losing additional games and kicking him to the curb. Imagine having his resume thus far and thinking you are immune from competition or owed anything. Joke
My brain was gonna explode if Milroe wasn’t named the starter. He sucks but my god at the other two. Simpson needs more going for him than we have to offer right now.
The rest of the season is all on Rees. Can he put the offense in a position that promotes their strengths and hides their weaknesses?
Hasn't done shit to do it so far. Maybe he needs to be suspended until he pulls his head out of his ass. The offensive execution is dog shit and so is the game plan.
If Jalen can't clean up the catastrophic decision making and INTs realistically we go 8-4 or 9-3. It's just absoutely pathetic that you have a performance as bad as he has against Texas, then follow it up with the most dog shit performance of Alabama QBs of all time, and it was so bad that you are clamoring for the guy that was complete ass just two weeks ago. That's where we're at. God help us.
Yep. You have made the decision you had to make now you have to put him in the best situation you win.
This thread is praising Jalen for being a great teammate and wanting him kicked off the team in alternate posts. Let’s all just take a few deep breaths.
All I know is that our program is much worse off than I originally imagined. What an embarrassing way for Saban to handle all of this.
The concepts that Jalen was a bitch for throwing a fit because the coaches rightfully wanted to see what the other guys could do after Jalen played like absolute dogshit against Texas, and Jalen being a good teammate during the USF game are not mutually exclusive. I had no clue on Saturday that Jalen had pitched a hissy fit to the coaches, acted like a bitch, and had been suspended. I praised him for being a good teammate during the game. Sounds like Saban probably gave him an ass chewing and he responded well and got his attitude straight during the game which has now resulted in him being reinstated.
Is it possible that Jalen can limit turnovers and improve on the intermediate passing game? On one hand this is his 3rd year in the program. On the other hand he's only started 2 games ever so you'd think he'd have some room for improvement. If he can cut the catastrophic turnovers in half and get marginally better at intermediate passing and if the OL and Rees can figure out a way to protect him, we have a chance at winning the SEC West. That's a whole lot of ifs.
I'm not praising anybody for being a great teammate because they cheered on the team when they weren't playing.
As I said a few pages back, I’ll gladly take 8-4 with Milroe if I never have to see what I saw Saturday again.
Idk i thought it was nice to see. he responded well to an ass chewing from Saban i guess. people still talk about how Hurts did it at the natty. If he does somehow figure it all out it will be a nice chapter to the story!
Kiffin is also a notorious shit stirrer. I'm not positive Saban is giving us the full truth either, but I find it much more likely that Lane is trying to cause game week distractions
I wasn’t really trying to start this big thing,” Kiffin said. “We saw things on TV copy just where it was different, first off with the playbook, the calls and stuff. We looked into that further. It ain’t no secret: People in these buildings know each other. We got some information that way, too.
LOL at anybody that believes that. Everything Kiffin says, EVERY SINGLE THING, is designed to get a reaction.
