Upamecano doing the lords work the past two matches. I take back all the bad things I said about him.
I can’t wait for the Bayern board to play hardball and haggle with Xabi like they’re doing him a favor
Let's hope board approaches this calmly and doesn't make any knee jerk decisions. Tuchel remains the best person to lead the bayern project.
They’re meeting as soon as they get back from Bochum. Tuchel gone. I doubt Xabi is even an option for us at this point.
He should be privileged to coach a squad with recent starters such as Eric Dier, Raphael Guerreiro, Noussair Mazaroui, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
He’s not been amazing of course and the atmosphere around the club seems super toxic, but I think it’s going a bit overboard on how bad he’s been. 8pts behind an undefeated Leverkusen team is really only a disaster given Bayern’s consecutive title record and a 1-0 first-leg loss in Rome is easily salvageable (after a good enough group stage).
What happened to Goretzka? He’s actively bad and has been for a little while now? I don’t watch nearly enough Bayern so I genuinely don’t know
He’s been dogshit for the last 3 years but he’s Kimmich’s best friend, so he’s on ridiculous wages and plays constantly.
Was it injury related or something? I mean he just turned 29 and should be in the prime of his career, like wtf happened for him to just fall off so sharply?
He had a major knee injury and when he came back, he focused more on furthering his political footprint in Germany than playing football. It was an almost immediate decline. He’s always out of position, usually walking and never contributes to goals anymore.
who would think is a good replacement for Tuchel at this point and do you worry about the job losing some attractiveness at all?
I’m definitely worried about how attractive it is, but that’s mainly due to everyone wanting to leave rather than pay for Tuchel. Mourinho started learning German and he’s said before that he wants to coach in Germany, I’m just not sure he’s a good fit either. Flick has made no secret about wanting to come back, as he knows he got blue falconed by Kahn and Brazzo, both of whom were already fired. I’ve said for years that I think Zidane would be the best option, however he doesn’t speak German at all and who knows if he even wants it. The worst thing we can do is hire some stopgap, hoping Xabi Alonso comes next year because they’ll invariably: We need to accept the fact that he’s not coming to Munich and hire accordingly.
Guys that rely on hustle and overpowering opponents to win duels often breakdown quicker than finesse players, especially when injuries are involved. Also doesn’t help if they get the fuck you I got paid attitude. Also 29 is past most players primes.
If you’re trying to say that I’m not at my physical prime at 35, motherfucker I will 100% kick your ass after I take a nap on the couch and some aspirin to deal with a litany of aches and pains that I never knew existed. Just you wait, for those to kick in, please, thank you.
