Buying a book for someone is such a great gift -- A cheap and easy way to provide something much more meaningful than what gift giving has become. What are your favorites that you have received as a gift? Any books you are gifting this year? My list to give so far this year: Take My Hand by Dolen Perkins-Valdez - for my sister in law who is a gen-z nurse I'll Show Myself Out: Essays on Midlife and Motherhood by Jessi Klein - for my wife, we're expecting our first.
My BIL is a game of thrones turbo dork. Got him a big compendium for Christmas that’s full of extra maps and lore and whatnot
Gave my dad the new Ned Blackhawk book and my mom Small Things Like These by Keegan. Gave my brother a book published by the AZ Game and Fish Dept about the amphibians and reptiles of Arizona, thing is super neat with all the high quality pictures Ann Patchett's State of Wonder and Bel Canto have been big hits with women in my life in the past and and my mom loved getting Foster for her bday
I don’t give people books for special occasions but if I read something that I know someone will like I sometimes just randomly send it to them. Probably done that 10x this year
