Meh. I get that you're not supposed to say it out loud, but there are a lot of kids who will ultimately be hurt by this and fail to reach their potential for pretty obvious reasons that more old school types are more likely to think about than others. It's just like anything else. The old way was probably good for a lot of kids while bad for many others. This is good for a different group of kids while it's going to hurt others. Unfortunately there is no system that is ideal on this kind of thing. But I don't think being more in the old school on it is automatically contradictory towards being pro labor or anything like that.
I kinda cringed when Van said he loved Deion, and then a couple minutes later talked about Bo being on BS High, ignoring when fucking Deion pulled the same exact con.
You side with Bomani that transfers are quitters? Have you ever changed jobs? Did you consider yourself a quitter for taking what you thought was a better job? I think it's dumb to call kids quitter for going to what they think is a better situation.
I don't think I sided with anyone. He made a statement. I said I get the premise of it. You said "it should be their choice," which to my knowledge no one is really arguing against.
I don't think they should be looked at negatively for doing something most people do at some point. It's 18 and 19 yr old kids changing jobs. Calling them quitters is really really dumb and just comes from selfishness. Personally I think the current system is pretty ideal for the kids and that's all that matters imo.
His logic on transfers is very old man in the barbershop yelling about young kids. By that very logic Randy Moss is a quitter for what happened at FSU.
Just a general question. Has this ever worked with dbl? Over a decade and has he ever said “You know what, you’re right. I’ll change my stance and end this conversation”. He’s knows he’s on the wrong side of this, as do I. Unlike him I’m willing to understand that point and move on.
I’d be hard pressed to remember anyone on here openly changing their stances on something and resolving the issue.
Wait what? I think you and I are on the same side? To be clear, I preferred the old way for my personal enjoyment. I also realize it was fucked up for the kids and the new system is much better for them bc they get to decide their futures so I'm cool with it. I don't think I'm on the wrong side. I think calling them quitters is wrong. I like Bo but that's some selfish old head bullshit imo.
We are absolutely on the same side. I realize my hypocrisy on this and I’m good and ready to move on. That’s all I’m saying. I want them to get paid, I hate that it happens this much. I’m a hypocrite. Next point.
This sentence is the closest the board will ever get to dbl changing his position. Time to shut it down.
My stance hasn't changed at all. I thought he was confused on my stance or had me mixed up with someone else.
Transfer are quitters is a weird take. But what is the actual rule right now? I don’t follow this stuff closely anymore and I thought it was that you got one free transfer, then you had to sit if you did it again. Is that not the case? Then I see DJU and others transferring a second consecutive year… did they change it where you can transfer an unlimited amount of times without sitting out? Or is there an exception for if your HC leaves?
Pretty sure they get 1 without having to sit as an undergrad but they can also get 1 as a graduate student like before.
You get 1 free transfer + 1 grad transfer if you graduate and have eligibility left A 2nd non-graduate transfer you have to apply for a waiver to play immediately or you have to sit a year. 18% were approved. This rule has been suspended through end of spring sports as it is currently in the court system
All the *aysayer conversation last week had me chuckling. He kept sliding it into topics well after they moved on too. That was really good.
that movie looks ridiculous, can't wait. can't tell if it is meant to be serious or just kinda silly. Druski makes me question what they are trying to do with it
The best is when Joel is on and the two of them start talking high school legends from my youth like they did when mentioning Andy Dalton’s high school (Katy High which has probably more Texas state titles than any other I’d imagine) letting Jalen Milroe get away to a new neighboring school, they dropped the name of this old white fullback for Katy, Bill Jatzlau, that I hadn’t thought about since I was like 8.
I remember it going on at the time and was always confused by how comfortable they were with a pretty clear racist just because he was cordial.
Can you guys tell bomani to log off and stop tweeting about Josh Allen? It is constantly being fed to the top of my For You page on twitter despite not wanting anything to do with it or the discourse around it. Thanks.
it's a very weird tangent. mahomes is unanimously considered the top qb by everyone in and around the league. and yet bomani is talking like he doesn't get credit.
He's been doing this for 2 years now. He's been hanging around Nick Wright so much lately that he's stolen his shtick because that's been Nick's wheelhouse for years.
I get it. Mahomes is better. Allen is top 2, 3 or 4, whatever you want to say. Not really sure it matters. Why bomani feels the need to compare him to culpepper or rivers instead of saying he is the (insert #) current qb in the nfl seems bizarre. Feel like he is doing what a lot of the same stuff he used to make fun of other people for. Regardless, I’d prefer if it wasn’t thrown in my face for two straight days by my algorithm.
He’s been really falling back on “nick made a good point about…” or Nick said this and I agree a lot on his pods the last month or so
