We probably don’t need too many political threads for mostly the same but are we gonna have a dedicated one for election 2024? The past few weeks I’ve given a listen to a few episodes of Somebody’s Gotta Win with Tara Palmeri. Brian Stelter is on her episode sounding kind of arrogant about Biden. Their conversation is about how media will cover Trump/biden.
Did this get shared already? Fuck AIPAC and every single evil piece of shit that went after Tlaib. This is amazing and makes me a little hopeful that the right wing Israeli lobbying force is getting beaten back. Her, Omar, and Cori Bush are going to be under constant attack this cycle. All three likely get death threats daily and Bush especially is going to be raked over the coals because she's paying extra for a body guard.
VIDEO OF THE DAY: Fed up sports analyst torches conservatives for attacking Taylor Swift Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd took a Texas-sized scalpel and absolutely eviscerated lonely "sad guys" across America losing their collective shit over a female pop star briefly entering their safe space — NFL TV broadcasts — and making them feel uncomfortable. Cowherd rightly pointed out that, for decades, the sports world has celebrated celebrity fans on the sidelines and in the stands, albeit with one very important caveat — they've almost always been men. No doubt making a LOT of enemies, Cowherd hit the nail on the head: "But a talented, beautiful woman is on the air — one who would never pay attention to lonely men — and it bothers them." America's "sad guys" aren't alone, of course. Their pied pipers and dog whistlers in conservative media are currently in full-scale panic mode over Swift's pedestrian call for her followers to — shudder to think — participate in our elections. Cowherd closed with a mic drop for the ages: "Judge people by the silly things that bother them." Hell yes.
So money is free speech in citizens United when it’s helping elect shitty politicians but money can’t be free speech when it’s helping poor people get out of jail fucking gross
For profit bail bondsmen - good, American, legal, manly Not-for-profit bail funding - bad, woke, socialist, gay
Also could the same people just set up Joe and Bob's Bail Fund 1A , bail out three people, and then found Joe and Bob's Bail Fund 1B?
Sometimes I wonder if we ever gained superpowers would I use them for good or bad. I always try and think good, this stuff like this make me realize I’d be a supervillain. Then again, my standing theory that comic book movie villains are mostly right, but they have to take them to far extremes to make them villains holds up.
depends on the super power imo i feel like if you had Homelander-esque powers you'd probably end up turning evil over time, but i don't think you would start out evil
It's MCU syndrome. "I have too good a point, so now I'm going to murder an innocent person to show that I am, in fact, the baddie" -Killmonger -What's her name from F&WS -Zemo -Namor -Toomes
My best case is Thanos. He saw the universe as dangerously overpopulated, which are real world issues and make sense. The solution would be to use the stones to make viable environmental solutions. Instead he wants to destroy half of all living things because he’s a madman.
That was always his biggest flaw I noticed in the movies. He's technically a genius, so he should've realized there was a better option than mass genocide. In the comics doesn't he only use the stones so he could impress Death or something?
I'd be a really boring super villain. All this "money is meaningless, more power!" BS. Nah, i'd just want some money. Probably schedule a meeting with congress and level with them. "Look, I have really awesome, destructive powers that I'm happy to demonstrate in small scale on this apple. I could be a real problem. Destroy cities n what. I could cause so many trillions in damage, and really all I want is a billion dollars. That's not that much in 2024. I'm not even really threatening, just kinda asking. I spose I could just rob an art museum or something but I thought I'd just start by asking."
mass genocide is the way because it recognizes the greed and incompetence that lead to the situation.
They touched on that at the end of one of the early movies. The line was like to battle them is to court death, which was a like nerds caught. Sorry for derailing, but that Georgia law sucks ass.
Not sure if it has its own thread but no sketch comedy show can touch KITH. Way way ahead of its time Scott Thompson the GOAT
I think there was a thread when they did the new season a couple years ago, but not sure we have an all encompassing one for the old seasons.
I had an extremely strange dream last night and I’ll spare you all the details, but a highlight was being at some random football media awards banquet, meeting Nancy Pelosi there, and then as I tried to say something beyond “hello” to her she started singing some bastardized African chant while dancing and backing away.
I think the WH gave this story the go. Trump is incredibly weak rn. A lot of people around the country feel the same feelings Joe has about that monster. Make it relatable
Nothing is leaked from this White House about Biden's temperament without multiple levels of approval I'd have to imagine. This isn't like having John Kelly give the media stories about Trump every week to try to save his own soul
And then that whore was all “jk, nvm, you still got balls for a chin, I’m not letting you hit.” Bitches man, even when you kill billions they’ll still friend zone your ass.
