i think it’s gotten to it’s natural conclusion. If the cop had his gun drawn he imo he walked in with the intent to shoot someone. If he didn’t then had time to reach for a weapon and he could have went for a non lethal weapon either way I agree with your position and others won’t.

Not at all. I think cops escalate more often than deescalate. I just don't see another realistic option in this singular scenario.
Also watch any YT channel that posts exclusively police shootings and you'll quickly realize why just shooting to maim is near impossible for these guys to do: 1) They hit their intended targets maybe 10% of the time, while purposefully aiming (as trained) for the center mass 2) At least 1 officer has a weapons malfunction in almost every video Both mainly due to the fact that their weapons training and proficiency is dogshit
A realistic option was a non lethal weapon. Saying “they don’t always work” isn’t (imo) a valid reason not to use them. Why have a taser if you’re not going to use them because “they don’t always work” that becomes a convenient excuse to just use a gun.
You use them when there's other options if they fail. You use them when the person doesn't have a weapon. Neither was the case here. Even if they work 80% of the time, you're asking the cop to gamble his life at 20% he dies. If someone is charging 5 feet from you with 2 knives, you do what you have to do save your own life. Asking someone to not do that is absurd and asking way too much.

Yep. Seems like this happens all the time where the person receiving the ticket thinks that signing it means they are agreeing that they are guilty of the violation because the cops do a shitty job of explaining it. When they don't comply right away, the cop escalates the situation to the extreme because they're a bitch and they think they're owed everyone's respect.

lol at trying to compare those two situations. One was closed space with a guy running at him out of nowhere. One was a a cop 20 feet away in a wide open space with a woman that barely broke a brisk walk. He could have easily turn and ran. He had a partner too.
