What is going on? Are these episodes dreams?

 

I’m rewatching from the start before seeing seasons 3 and 4.

The firing range that Lakeith Stanfield puts the dog poster up is the one my dad frequents.

Also between that scene and Black Bieber that episode is fucking incredible.

 

Season 3 is really good, but I prefer the normal episodes based in Atlanta. Sounds like season 4 is back to this.

 

Me being an Atlanta native is probably why I feel that way, there is an unreal amount of inside jokes and references that makes it feel like it was made just for the ATL.

 

Newest season definitely has a ton of that. You’ll love it once you get there.

Atlantic Station as a sort of purgatory was great

 

That had me constantly cracking up. The realization he would have rather got shot than got in the car with Doug.

That was a fun episode. I lost it picturing dblplay1212 in the van faced with that choice.

 

What was the choice?

 

Make out with your friend for three seconds in the back of a van while this old dude watches in order to get 2 pairs of limited edition Nike’s.

 

Then negotiating down from 8 minutes to 3 seconds is pretty good

 

Until…it gets better, lol

 

Depends on what pairs they were. If we're talking Air Max 1 Masters Friends and Family and the Sotheby's LV Air Force 1 with the travel case, Jorts is getting some loving.

 

Nike Miracles. There was only like 1,000 made.

 

Also, one of the pairs was a half size down, so I think there was more room for negotiation. Who gets the tighter shoes? We’ll have to see.

 

I think they made up that sneaker for the show.

Never heard of them, but that's not crazy limited. Maybe a shoe they made up for the show? The Masters were 1/55 and the Louis Vuitton AF1 were 1/100. The Masters are about $15k and the LV AF1 are over $100k.

 

They referenced them selling aftermarket for $10k on the internet (to put it in context).

The crime scene photos of the goofy shoes and gloves killed me.

 

Definitely googled Tom Washington at probably the 7 minute mark in suspicion if not believing it. They knew how long into the mockumentary to sprinkle in more and more surreal shit. The goofy hat from Amsterdam btw.


Also, snipe hunt, they just accepted the snipe and never had it come back or addressed it, so someone inform me of the metaphor, I am dumb.

 

I just don’t think it was actually integral to the story and was supposed to be surreal so they just moved on

 

As far as mockumentaries go. That was stunning man. Just stunning.

A very Atlanta ending. It was anyone’s guess how this finale would go, but I am glad it centered around Darius because he turned out to be the creative heart of this masterful show.

I just caught myself thinking about that scene between Darius and his brother. Gutted y’all.

 

I feel like Darius saying “maybe we’re just in one of my dreams” is just a really sweet wink to us all.
