i think that's more of a writing/showrunner thing than a villain thing. i mean, they had ras al ghul as the bad guy and couldn't make it good. but i do like this casting.

Hawkman To Join ‘The Flash’ & ‘Arrow’ Before ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’
    [IMG]
Prepare yourselves, fans of DC Comics television: the upcoming seasons of The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow won’t be bringing Kendra Saunder a.k.a. Hawkgirl to the small screen alone. With the superheroine revealed in both the initial announcement trailer for Legends, and a brief appearance in The Flash‘s season finale, exactly how a mystical, superpowered, flying warrior would be worked into the TV universe’s shared fiction has been a mystery.

Now, fans may have their first hint, as a new report claims that Carter Hall a.k.a. Hawkman will be introduced to both CW shows in their coming seasons to give context to provide some context, before (presumably) helping Kendra (Ciara Renée) take on the mantle of Hawkgirl in Legends of Tomorrow.

The details come courtesy of EW, along with a character description that should seem familiar to any fan of “Hawkman” comics – and a tease of how the two Hawk-characters have handled their endless reincarnation:

As you may have heard, Carter Hall, aka Hawkman, is coming to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but I hear we’ll actually see him pop up on The Flash and Arrow first. Described as charismatic and wise beyond his years, Hawkman is a natural-born leader with an abundance of charm and confidence—well, that’s because he’s 5,000 years old. Much like the comic book iteration, Carter retains his memories of his past lives each time he is reborn, though his lover (aka Hawkgirl) is born anew. In other words, Kendra Saunders will have no idea who he is at first.

For those who may not know, reincarnation is a core pillar of the Hawkgirl/Hawkman mythology. Reboots, retcons, and alternate takes on the heroes have changed the details of just where the heroes’ spirits come from, or select, and whether the pair are aware of their past love or lives. The description above claims it’s Hawkman’s duty to seek out the reborn Hawkgirl, and deliver the bad (good?) news with every rebirth.

This news will no doubt excite fans of the hero, and especially those who witnessed his first incarnation on Smallville. It’s hard to think of a DC superhero who would benefit more from the advances in TV special effects, even if his role in The Flash and Arrow is hard to predict. However, we know that Arrowwill be dealing with Sara Lance’s return as White Canary before she departs for Legends of Tomorrow, so it’s likely that Hawkgirl – a certified metahuman if there ever was one – will be given a similar treatment on The Flash.

The question will now turn to casting, since The CW has shown that no introduction of a DC Comics hero is an opportunity wasted… even if it may be a little too soon to hope that a Hawkman TV series, or even a recurring role is in the network’s plans.

For now, what do you think of this news? Does it seem like a wise move, and the best way to introduce the complicated mythology behind both Hakwgirl and Hawkman? Are there any actors you think could do the role justice? Sound off in the comments!

NEXT: THE FLASH CASTS NEW CHARACTERS FOR SEASON 2
Arrow returns for season 4 Wednesday, October 7th, at 8PM on The CW; The Flash returns for season 2 Tuesday, October 6th, at 8PM on The CW; Legends of Tomorrow is expected to air on The CW in early 2016.

Constantine Officially Set to Appear on Arrow
    225
Matt Ryan will reprise his role from the cancelled NBC series.
By Eric GoldmanUpdate below with more info...

His series may be gone, but John Constantine is coming back to TV. Today at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, the CW officially announced that Matt Ryan, star of NBC's now-cancelled Constantine series, will reprise his role as the DC Comics character on Arrow this coming season.

Right now, Ryan is set to guest star in one Season 4 episode, and plot details are being kept under wraps. CW president Mark Pedowitz described it as a "great, one-shot episode," seemingly indicating for now, at least, Constantine won't be an ongoing presence on the series. Pedowitz noted that with Constantine cancelled, it was possibly to bring Ryan onto Arrow, thanks to Constantine being produced, as all DC-based TV series are, by Warner Bros., who co-own the CW.

    Crossover!

At Comic-Con last month, when I spoke to Arrow's executive producer Wendy Mericle and stars Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards about the possibility of Constantine appearing on the series, they indicated that the introduction of the villain Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and the inclusion of more mysticism on Arrow this season could pave the way for Constantine to appear.

You can check out the discussion about Constantine around 7 minutes in below.

Arrow: Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, Wendy Mericle Season 4 Interview - Comic-Con 2015
    10:29
UPDATE: The CW's official press release on Constantine's appearance on Arrow provides some more info, including that he will be in the fifth episode of the season, called "Haunted."

Per the CW: "John Constantine is a weather worn exorcist and expert on the supernatural and the occult. He is a detective, magician, and a hunter of demons, and will provide critical support to Oliver (Stephen Amell) when arrows aren't enough."

Arrow EP Marc Guggenheim says, in a statement, "We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow. Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired. The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to Arrow and the CW’s DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series."

Think Arrow’s new battle costume for Season 4 of ‘Arrow’ looked cool? Wait until you see Team Arrow’s Lair-makeover!
As part of Entertainment Weekly‘s #50Scoops50Days, the source revealed the cool new look Arrow fans can expect to see on The CW this upcoming season. Let’s just say that Oliver Queen’s secret lair has sure come a long way!

First of all, where did they get all of the money to do this? Eh, I guess this can easily be answered by possibly Thea? I don’t know! But also, who designed it, or more like – who built it? It’s a bit suspicious hiring a construction crew to come and design the “secret” lair. Let’s stop asking questions though and just enjoy it!

Executive producer, Marc Guggenheim, share details on the new lair, saying:

“In designing the new lair, we had to think in terms of the much larger group that Oliver has surrounded himself with and how Team Arrow is a much bigger enterprise.”

Ha, that’s for sure! Just one glass case to hold a suit will no longer do anymore. One thing that Guggenheim didn’t share with fans is the actual new location of the lair. So that is anyone’s guess at the moment.

Here is how Arrow’s new lair is broken down:

“There is an area for Felicity to work, there is an area for Oliver to work out, and there is a garage,” Guggenheim said.

From the photo shared by the source, we can also see that there is a large circled table with very comfy-looking chairs (they spared no expense), so we’re assuming that’s the meeting area.

My guess would be the flashbacks are going back to the island. The storyline in Year One involves Ollie meeting a woman named Taiana and a group of slaves controlled by China White (she's appeared in several episodes played by Kelly Hu). He helps lead them in a rebellion and it ends with him getting off the island.

They hinted way too hard for us to think it's Felicity, so it's almost definitely a red herring.

Papa Lance is the most obvious choice, given his involvement with HIVE. Thea is probably the dark horse candidate. I don't know how much further her character has to go after they resolve her issues from the Lazarus Pit.

Yeah I was going Thea because I can't see Lance's death making Barry apologize to Oliver about missing the funeral or make Oliver want to commit murder. As TheGrifter says I think she's the most expendable of team arrow at this point.

They've turned him into a very hateable character. Even his wife told him to get over it and he's still throwing a fit. I feel like they've done this with everyone in that group except for felicity. I guess it was just Diggle's turn to act like a massive bitch.

I don't buy it is Felicity either. You don't spend 2 seasons setting up them getting together just to kill her the next season. Plus, if it was her, Oliver would take her to the Lazarus Pits. I was thinking Dig as well. If this is how he acts all season, then I am good with him being killed. His woe is me act is old and it has only been one episode. I wouldn't mind Thea as well, I don't feel like she brings anything to the show.
