After watching a very good documentary on the place I would say you should try Los Pollos Hermanos

 

not a resident (also i don't drink) but have had good meals at Frenchish and Indigo Crow

I'm told the streets and buildings are coated with fentanyl.

 

I'd definitely hit La Guelagetza, it's a casual spot but was a James Beard Award nominee (maybe winner, I'm not sure)

Bow and Arrow is another good brewery. It’s also the only native owned brewery in the country (to my knowledge), which is really cool.

If you’re looking for a nice meal, Los Poblanos is an absolutely phenomenal experience. Duran Central Pharmacy is awesome for carne adovada.

 

Haven’t been there in years, does this whole city shutdown at dusk still? Was shocked at how there was nearly nothing to do at night on weekdays.

Whenever I'm in town, I always make sure I head down to Gus's fine establishment for a meal. Simple food but good value for money.

 

Biscochito are so good. Wish I had some right now.

 

Weed is also now legal in NM. What a place.

 

It's super divey, but Monte Carlo's Liquors and Steak House is really solid.
